The Lakers won a game because Kobe dribbled the ball off his leg and Pau picked it up and scored......this was the shot just before the Blake one BTW.

I think Brooks was pretty bad, but the entire team was bad, and the coaches did not do them any favors by switching up the defense to disrupt an uber hot player.

This was a bad matchup for Brad.

While I thought Chuck played pretty well (some nice layups), I would have liked to have seen more of Jared Jeffries with Luis Scola down the stretch.

(I also thought Adelman played Brooks too much in the second half. Like last night, he should have rested him at some point in the third quarter and let Courtney Lee take some PG minutes rather than waiting until late in the fourth to do so.)

This pattern keeps up, even the teams who aren't gonna make the playoffs in the East are gonna be rolling over us. Already beaten by 2 teams in our conference, not a good way to start out, especially if we're gunning for a spot in the playoffs in the ridiculous West.

I love Lowry but we can't use him as a excuse.

This was supposed to be one of the deepest teams in the NBA...only to show it's lack of depth because one player is out?

We had no shot at winning this game with the strategy we came in here with.

I still have belief in this team and this was just a case of Rick just toying around and trying things out as he always does for like the first 2 months of the season.

Damn, already 0-2!? The season is basically over, now.

I guess we now what we should do now:

Miller played some in the second half, but I didn't really notice the pace slowing down any when he was in.

We actually looked best when Hayes and Jeffries were our frontcourt. They helped get us three consecutive defensive stops in the second half, which helped slow things down. But that was also with Curry resting, and maybe Ellis too.

Even though we're 0-2, I'm happy that the Rockets are showing the focus on defense that was discussed during the offseason.

What was the Morey quote? We're going to play defense or find players that will?

Hopefully, we'll get an update on the search.

Yes Jeffries was solid, but if a scrub like Jeffries can be solid what do you think might have happened if PP and JH got some playing time?

The ultimate goal of any coach is to win games, but you should also take the future into account. We might have still lost had PP and JH gotten some PT, but at least those two would have gotten some experience. Instead, we not only got 2 losses, but also missed a chance to develop our young guys.

Hill and PP are both young, energetic and athletic big men. They would have blown up had they played in this game.

Who here said RA likes playing rookies again? Reminds me of how he treated Gerald Wallace...

Trade for Iguodala and Gerald Wallace? Nah, we're the rockets, no such luck.

Lee and Martin backcourt looked pretty good. And this was probably a safe game to give more minutes to Lee at the PG spot, as Curry isn't an aggressive defender.

It was 2 road games and no game vs the division its ok to lose.

Its was 2 back to back game on the road on the other team opener with Yao missing one of the 2 games. Is not a problem at all. Just look at the Celtics the lost to a bad team after looking like world beater. It happen.

I love Adelman, but his whole strategy tonight was wrong. While playing a high flying, turnover prone team like GSW, you don't play their game.

He should have slowed it down, and gone into Scola more.

East, you can make the playoffs being a 45 win team.

West, you need 50+ games to make 8th seed.........

In the east, you can afford to lose games you are suppose to win.

And maybe double-teaming Ellis at some point might have been something he could have tried.

This probably deserves a separate thread but:

Bring back Jeff Van Gundy! He loves Houston. I want to see a coach with a passion and love for our team and city. Adelman is good, but he doesn't have the fire.

    Bring back JVG!

I am a GS season ticketholder and the crowd is always live, even last season when they were putting the finishing touches on a dismal campaign. Always a good crowd, but cursed with crappy non-winning basketball. Curry will change that.

You're just not winning in Golden State allowing 130+ poitns when they have Curry, Lee and Ellis.

    DEFENSE?

Maybe, but i dont think you make that decision before the game starts. There's tons of bad matchups on paper in this league, but some days it's turns out upside down...i believe battier had at least one game where he did well on monta...but then look what happened tonight...not to say Miller would have had a career game, but there's just more to matchups than height and size....it was worth a try, especially with the way they were rebounding. Not to mention we needed to use up some (hard)fouls...both Martin and Brooks finished with 5 and that probably played a role on their aggressiveness down the stretch.
