I think the refs have it in for Lowry. 3 consectuvie times down the court and he gets hammered. Jeffries moves out of the way when guarding westbrook, and the invisible man fouls westbrook.
It's digusting what the league is. At least back in the day, that's why you had the homecourt, so the refs wouldn't call stupid s*** like that. You always expect to get the Oz treatment on the road but not at home.

Other than that, the rockets fall in love with long jumpers and Harden has a cool beard.

I dont think adelman is to blame. He rolled the dice playing the FT game in the end. Westbrook hit those clutch ft's. Honestly, Rockets late game comebacks are fool's gold. They turn it up too late and come up short everytime. Nothing new here.

Would Martin have made a difference? Even with his 20ppg we still lose the same. That shows you just how much of a impact he makes on the final outcome. ZERO. We probably would have lost to Boston if Kmart had played. Shed this team of him and his contract!!!

Patterson had 1 rebound as well. I hope Patterson hasnt let his guard down now that he knows he is in the rotation.

Yeah, no one wants to hear about moral victories but hey, nice effort. Unfortunately, effort wasnt good enough for the W. Died by the 3 again? Maybe. 5-18 --Brooks 1-7 himself.

I am completely in agreement with you on this. It was like the refs weren't going to give Lowry a call unless blood was gushing down his face. But the league usually goes out of its way to give the officiating edge to a winning team when they play a team with a losing record regardless where the game is played. That's just standard operating procedure. The Rockets just have to outplay a team from start to finish in order to overcome that like they did in Boston. No easy task to be sure.

yea, I agree that PPat should be focusing more on being a garbage man much like how Landry first developed but at least he was active and husting while Jordan was out of it all night long. I'm a Hill supporter but games like this drive me nuts coming off a strong effort in Boston.

I thought Patterson was pretty active. He also had 8 pts, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in less than 15 minutes of play.

A 2 way playing PF or center is the fix. PP and Hill aren't it, at least not right now. They don't have the "go get it" attitude.

    Good game. Great fight.

We have nice pieces on this team with no franchise players, but was simply out-talented by a team with a HOFer along with another potential franchise player. It is a testament to our players and coaching that we hung in there even without our top scorer.

Terrence Williams looked erratic on offense. For now I am not worried yet because Courtney Lee looked the same way, to a lesser extent, at first. It takes new players awhile to adjust to Adelman's system, and it might be taking him longer which explains the lack of playing time. His ability to grasp the team game and fit in as a unit will determine his success in the league. Going solo and being a black hole on offense will turn him into a Kirk Snyder.

Patrick Patterson is really starting to remind me of when Landry first broke out. Remember how he similarly shot a ridiculous % in his first dozen or so games? With all the comparison getting throw out there, I like Landry the first 2 years with us, with much better defense. Defense, remember, was Landry's biggest weakness and the only thing that kept him off the floor at times. Whether Patterson can develop an ability to isolate like Landry's last year with us is still to be seen. Even still, Landry was an old rookie while Patterson is showing a consistency and polish uncommon in 21 year olds.

Jordan Hill is also showing GREAT consistency. Unfortunately.

I am really getting the vibe that we are holding back on Patterson, even limiting the plays ran for him. It might be simply because this is his 11th game as a rookie. But it also might be because we are in the thick of trade season, and we would rather keep him under wraps while promoting other players. Don't be surprised if his minutes and role greatly expand after the trade deadline as players are shipped off and this team goes dreads-less.

While we at it, also get a superstar closer.

Not necessary. This team can close with that big who can score and defend. That's the combination issue. There's always one offense-only player too many or one defense-only player. They either keep scoring, but can't defend or defend, but can't score. The other team eventually does both late or throughout the game and that puts them over the top.

I love Patterson. I wish I could see more of him on the court. I'm not really interested in the playoffs anymore, lost interest a while back, but I'm really excited to watch the young guys. I want Patterson to take Hill's minutes. It makes no sense to not play Patterson when he is clearly a better player than Hill. Who cares about the size of our frontcourt, it doesn't make a different defensively anyways.

Agreed All the way. IMO we could have been sitting 5th spot if we had that big man you are talking about. We just need more balanced players. Its way too hard to acquire a supestar.

I would rather have a Detroit model where every player can contribute daily on both ends. I am leaning towards "a team full of stars and no superstar" rather than "a team full of one-dimensioanl role players + a superstar".

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Shane Battier needs to be on the pine. My hope is that Morey deals him to a contender looking for veteran leadership, fundamental team defense, and an expiring contract.

His offensive limitations are severely crippling this team. He refuses to pull the trigger in the flow of the offense, can't attack off the dribble, and is an atrocious finisher. Plus, he lacks the mobility and stamina to lock down premier scorers like he did 2-3 years ago. I'm sick and tired of his numerous apologists citing his defense, because his ball-stopping abilities have been fairly mediocre this season.

His day has passed, and it's time for the organization to move on, as well.

Good stuff, thats one of the many reasons I prefer Pat over Hill. I was just saying I wish he grabbed a few more boards too.
