Proud of the Rockets for coming back and making a game of it. The magical Rafer run is officially over. TMac scored 30, thanks, but looked so lackadasical at times, "what me care." I hate it when he jacks up ill advised jumpers and misses lay ups and freebies. Just a bit more intensity in the fourth, and it could have happened.
Hats off to the team. Could have packed it in early after the 1st quarter and nobody would have blamed them. Played hard till the end. Good effort by Mac and BJax and Scola. 2 and 3 isnt actually that bad for 4 games in 5 nights.
free throws... we're making them expensive, instead of saying, give me that. rafer and luther... wow, crucial turnovers, stupid shots at the 4th quarter. what the hell... something is wrong with coach... the last few games, he has horrible substitutions.... no novak? head has been doing torrible. and our defense isn't that good, so i'm pretty sure novak will at least make someone not named amare or shaq score.
We got killed by the refs they wanted to give the suns a cushion before there road trip to the east.Wsup with shaqs rebound and blatant elbow no call or landry getting a rebound over shaq and he get's called with a foul.
4 games in five nights is tough. At least the team did not give up and get blown out. The Suns streak will end Monday. They have a tough 4 game road trip. The Rockets should be back up to third by Monday.
I'm just glad we made the game interesting. 1st quarter is why we lost. I'm proud of the Rockets though, they got to Phoenix at 3am after the GSW game, and this is their fourth game in 5 nights. Hell week indeed. T-mac finally woke up. He had 30 something points, we needed 40 from him to win though. That said he played a very good game, too bad he didn't explode. I think this game shows we're a very solid, confident team that doesn't give up, but it also shows that we sorely miss Yao... I got the Suns broadcast of the game, the announcers were so ******* cocky...one of them claimed this game was over at around the 7 minute mark when Rockets were down 15, then the Rockets pulled to within 10 and shut him up good.
Stupid game, because we basically outplayed the Suns! They went to the line incredibly 40 times, and if they would have shot just a nice 75 %, it would mean 8 points less for them (and they won by 8). In the first half they were hitting everything, even fadeaways with hands in their faces and 3s. In the second half when their shooting percentage went down it was our game to take, but we fouled them way to often (or you could say too many fouls were called). And still, if Rafer wouldn`t have taken that quick stupid shot at the end, and then foul their best FT shooter, we were there right in the game. Well if anything this game showed us, that we can play with these guys, but have to find out a better way to guard Amare without giving the refs possibilities to call a foul against us.
It is pretty good on a 4 games in 5 nights against top contenders. That said, Rox already overachieved with this team, it is hard to do much more. This game clearly exposed our two weaknesses: PG and size. I imagine our summer will be for Morrey to work on getting a consistent PG and a decent backup for Yao.
Yeah, I've always wondered about that. Probably b/c he's not good enough of a passer to do that kind of pass and does not want to risk a TO. I always get mad when I see Scola in the middle of the lane open after the pick and rafer doesn't even try to pass it.
we've got 12 games left, and looking at it on paper, the tough games are away to SA, Denver, Utah.. and a home rematch against the suns. If we go 8-4 the rest of the way, we're looking at a 55-27 record for the season and still with an outside chance at a good playoff seeding.
I can't believe people are actually dissing Mac when he had 30/9/8. No, his %'s weren't great, but he kept the team close enough. If Shaq would have missed his normal FT's and the Suns not start off at 76% shooting hot, it would have been a win.
Yeah it was pretty ridiculous the kind of calls Amare was getting. What was worse was that Amare had the nerve to complain on several supposed "non-calls". Ummm, you got 20 FT attempts you spoiled little baby. Stop throwing tantrums on the floor and just run your ass up and play D.
