Minor, wasn't even a medium sprain. Martin 'twisted' his ankle Lowey has a problem with 'sprained' ankles Brooks completely 'raped' his ankle.
So.....did it (Martin's injury) look bad or what? Saying it wasn't as bad as Brooks isn't saying much.
Parker was pressuring Ishmael like crazy at first then he found out he couldn't force a turnover on Ishmael "Mr smooth handles" Smith.
It sucks we lost but it was great game, there were lots of Rockets fans at the game. here's my view from the cheap seats.
Aaron Brooks and Martin for one great player should really be considered. Ish, Lee, and Lowry could hold down the position unless its a star point guard we get back. Consolidation of these offensive one dimensional no defense playing weapons into one great star is needed.
Martin had the kind of sprain where it twists as you land, but it straightens right back, didnt even fall. He walked away with a very minor limp. I was surprised he didnt return, but i think they figured the game was gone without brooks, who knows. And looking at the game again, Ish had options when he took shots....they werent really doubling much. Houston was isolating ish and scola and everyone else was on the other side. The killer was after Shane hit his 3 to go up 4 with a min left, after a SA miss, Ish came down and instead of passing to an open scola on the roll he went to the rim and got blocked. RJ the other way for a layup. He's going to have to learn to stop and pop, with a jumpshot and not that Rafer runner, it's too predictable after a while.
Like I said in the game chat, it looked like Ish was out there auditioning for a bigger role instead of making the right move...trying to create too much by himself. He moved very well with the ball but made some poor decisions in the end that could have changed the outcome of the game.
Refs are trash as usual. Until things got out of hand is the only time they straightened up like always. I think not only should players be allowed to say things to the refs but fans of the team should get the priviledge to goup to them and yell full force in their faces just because we bought tickets to watch them ruin an otherwise entertaining game. Late they got it right by starting to give San Antonio so many calls. It wasnt until after Brooks and Martin got injured and the game was a foul fest sending San Antionio to the line every time. They started to flop and fall down and thats how players get injured when it gets sloppy. Oh well. Same trash NBA officiating and same Stern controlling it.
so i totally missed the game cause i was at the A&M game where we whooped some sooner asssss...lol...but i saw the score and highlights...any positive news? some how we are almost there every time..RA better solve this quick or its gonna become a rebuilding year.
injuries again.......it's like the spurs learned how to put their foot ur our players foot like bruce bowen used to do, it sucks. didn't bruce get fined for doin that?
Well I tell you what. Maybe this is what this team needed unfortunately. Not necessarily injuries, but I dont know what it is about Houston teams and the Rockets especially but they just play so much better when their backs are against the wall. Ish smith might be exactly what the offense needs to get back its rhythm. He just opens up the floor for everyone so much when he gets into rhythm. I loved watching him dissect the defense in the second half and find Scola and Battier for open shots. He just needs some more time to work on his shot and he will be just fine. I expect Brooks to miss maybe 3 weeks with that ankle injury. Maybe 4. Kevin Martin should be able to play tommorrow if they ankle doesnt swell up like crazy. Morey might want to think twice about finalizing that contract with Dampier. They might need Taylor after all or want to bring in Antonio Anderson to help at the 2. Jordan Hill looked really solid as a starter and really set the tone defensively against one of the bests in Duncan. I was really impressed. He didnt play much in the second half but it was mainly because they got on a roll and Chuck had a major part in that. I see the mental errors starting to decrease and that is very positive. All in all the team was 0 and 4 and now they are 0 and 5. Theres no reason to believe they are ready to compete with the top teams right now anyways so the Rockets just need to chip away at their issues one step and a time and maybe make something out of this season. Either way at least now nobody expects anything from them so the Rockets can feel more at home again in the underdog role. Heres to another season of the Slumdog Millionaire Rockets.
this season is gone..stop trying to make yao ming the center of offense and let kmart go for the scoring title...we arent going anywhere..morey screwed up when it mattered the most---battier for gay and lee for ariza. these 2 trades ruined the franchise and ruined yao ming's career.
Shut up already RV. You havent been right not one time this season. The trades were horrible he mentioned and everyone knows it. Such a clown.
