Fair enough, but trading AB for Hill straight up would be just plain dumb. AB is a way better offensive threat than Hill. Hill is only bigger than AB, thats all.
AB had a terrible second half, Hill had a great game..How did you Hill do last game against Brooks? Its a knee jerk no matter how you look at it. On the other hand saying AB has sub par court vision, below average defense, and has trouble handling the ball in traffic is not a knee jerk because you can look at his games over the course of the season instead of just this game.
You are having too many coversations and not following what I am saying. You: AB/Martin are bad defensively. It wont work Me: Its fine, wait till Yao gets back. You: Yao doesnt matter, look at what Hill did against us vs what Brooks gave us. Me: Compare thier interior defenders to ours. You: That doesnt matter, we are talking about the Rockets. Me: It does matter. The point is, Brooks was blowing by Hill and vice versa. The difference is they had lengthy interior defenders waiting, we didnt. This will change next year.
It's not. I was just comparing the 2nd year of George Hill and the 2nd year of AB, which is very comparable and Hill had an advantage. I didn't use this game to compare Hill and AB for this season at all.
LOL. There were a lot topics. But I belive when I saw you say how dominant a game AB played in first half, I pointed out while he shot well in first half, he gave up many points to Hill as well and in many games AB's scoring stats look better than actual impact because he gave up a lot more points as well. So it is still about the importance of defense by Rockets. Defense will change next year to some degree, but not too much if you have AB/Martin/Scola playing together. Three weak defenders just won't make the defense elite. You either replace AB or Martin with a better defender or replace Scola with a better defender.
another game where the team just can't defend well enoug not sure if it's been posted, but did anyone catch Armstrong doing his old trick again and pretending to shake Temple's hand at the end of the game but then going for the steal, just like he did in this when he was with the kings earlier this season...I thought it was pretty funny to see him try it again.
Defense is not just one on one, notice how Hill disrupts the rockets from running their offense, while brooks can't/won't do anything to disrupt the spurs sets. It's not just one game, it's been the whole season.
honestly, i am disappointed at AB's play, very very very ugly .this guy can't guard any PG agasint him.
AB has proved that he could score anywhere in a given night, though not so consistent.BUT I don't really care about it,because we have more option like kevin ,yao ,bud . so for a PG ,his defensive ability and play making is more important for us.at this point,we can say AB is zero-valued. it seems more wise to trade him when his value is on the peak.
The higher draft pick is what matters, the team competes, but getting better draft position is what is important. Big picture people, big picture. DD
Nice poll you started on Spurstalk. In case you haven't checked, 72 people have voted. 66 of them would not trade Hill for Brooks. That's almost 92%.
Don't think it matters. As of today, they are slotted for the 13th pick. Hope it's not Morey's unlucky number...
george hill and daren collison have played similar roles for their respective teams, the spurs and the hornets, filling in as astarter for the injury plagued tony parker and chris paul. I think new orleans needs to either trade collison or chris paul this offseason, since both are staters and one of them will not get enough minutes, paul plays about 33-35 minutes a game at starting pg, not enough play time for darren collison to shine; rockets either way can give up lowry (legit backup) and ariza (bad 4yr contract) or battier (expiring contract) for peja stojokavich and rookie darren collison and then trade brooks +scola+ filler to toronto for bosh or to phoenix for amare
or rockets can trade brooks (cheaper contract than paul) + battier(expring) to new orleans for darren collison or chris paul + peja stojokavich (expiring contract)
