LOL - I know but getting rid of Trevor and getting Manu to play in his place would be great in fantasy land.

There's a discernible line between trying to play the perfect game and keep making the same boneheaded plays.

Just because we are shorthanded doesn't mean that gives AB the green light to do whatever he wants, there's still an offense he's gotta run and he still has to make good decisions with the ball. Drive in a couple of times and get negative results should tell you to try something else, but hell no AB gets to the green light to make the same boneheaded mistakes because we are shorthanded.

    Riiiiiiiight.

FYI, AB was hitting his outside shots early the game, starting driving in later and got bad results and then that affected his outside shot, especially now that he was chucking 3's to try overcome the large deficit that he and Ariza had a large hand in digging ourselves into that hole. Panic and no patience.

AB scored 16 on 12 attempts in 1st half. Hill scored 10 on 6 attempts, better efficiency.

It doesn't matter Spurs have more talent or offensive firepower, and I'm not blaming AB for the loss, I just point out AB/Martin/Scola together next season will make Rockets very inconsistent on defense. You either replace Scola with some Defensive PF or you replace AB(Martin) with more defensive minded PG to make the team more balanced.

From the time he is in NBA. He's better than Landry, but still below average among PFs. Too short and too slow without any shot blocking ability.

With 3 weak defenders and a foolish starting PG, none, for sure. I'd say Morey have in mind to trade Aaron since he brought here Martin. I was right with Wafer, Artest and Landry and I have the same feeling with Brooks.

    HORSECRAP !

Ariza's defense is a joke, the only thing he does decently well is play the passing lanes, but he is garbage on the block, he can't stay in front of his man on the perimeter, and reaches too often.

He gets a few steals...but he leaves the defense exposed all the danged time.

    This was Morey's biggest miss.....

Can't shoot, can't defend and can't dribble....and we are stuck with this awkward SF for the next 4 years.

    Yippeee !!!

nahhh do not want jefferson, the only player I'm willing to ditch along with Ariza's contract to make it match is Jeffries, and he's an expiring also

maybe if you throw in George Hill

Silly me for checking this thread for talk about the game...needs to be retitled to Bashing Brooks. AB has in fact upped his assist totals in March, actually all season. He's getting better and better. And, if we plan on having Yao back, I still like a 3 pt shooting PG than one who can't hit the kickout. So, it still makes sense that Lowry is the backup next year. Lowry would be better at getting the ball to Yao, but I still see Brooks with a heck of alot more upside than Lowry. I love Lowry and consider him indispensable, but its always seemed that good 3 pt shooters aren't groomed to be that in the NBA. You either have the talent by then or you might develop into a marginal 3 shooter.

I was curious how Taylor did, since I missed the game, but all I see is good game, no details.

Who cares? Did you watch the game? The length of thier bigs closed up the lane. Numerous times our guards were trapped under the basket with no where to go. We got blocked 8 times, with numerous shots awkward and off balace to avoid other potential blocks.

Ariza has proved he can defend, shoot, rebound, slash, run and win at elite level with the appropriate people around him, but some people round here prefer the Wafers and Brooks... you know, winners.

    We talk about potential?

    You are hating on Ariza.

If Ariza is only decently well in playing passing lane, you'd better call AB's shooting average. The guy has been top 10 in steals for the entire season.
Ariza plays weak side help quite well too. He does have trouble staying in front of his man, but overall he's a good peremeter defender in stead of "can't defend".

And Ariza's dribble is atleast average among NBA SFs, maybe not good enough for a SG. His passing and rebounding are well above average.

All those, plus his length and athletisizm made the MLE signing look like a steal.

    Morey knows what he's doing.

Last time I checked, we are talking about Roekcts defense instead of Rockets offense. So who cares about Spurs inside defense.

Again, my point is: no matter how many points AB give you, he'd give away as many points as well on many nights, directly or indirectly.
