2ft away from Morey...holy crap he's tall. Took a pic with Pat Pat...hella good night. Didn't see the Lowry injury though. Hope he is ok.
Ish Smith cannot shoot at all, including free throws. He is still getting used to new mechanics for his jump shot so maybe that could change in the future.
Was at the game very impressed with the Rockets. My spurs played horrible yet we won  . Kevin Martin has remained to kill us since that layup he made in 2006 in the playoffs against the Spurs, tbh his shot pisses me off its so ugly but he's real good  . Patterson looks like he could be a pretty good player. I like his jumper real smooth. Was impressed with Jordan Hill wasn't afraid to take it at Duncan ,and was real agreesive but like I have read from some of yall he is more of an power foward. Everyone else looked okay. Scola for once also didn't have an career game against the Spurs also. Something about him and the Spurs  .
Thanks for the reply. Yeah that's what I thought from only watching his preseason play. Well I guess he'd better become an assist and defensive specialist to secure a long term NBA career with significant minutes (not sure if he is too small for the latter) Hopefully you're right and that will change in the future. From what I've seen, without him ever developing a jumper of 3ptr, if he could just shoot a good FT percentage he could make a nice living drawing fouls alone.
dude this loss doesnt worry me at all. spurs were struggling through out the game.... while rockets didnt even have yao on the floor!lol... with yao they'll get red raped!!
"Taylor, on offense, just seems to stand around the perimeter, waiting to get the ball (to shoot). i only saw him pass once, and that was when he didn't have a good look at a shot, he had already jumped, and needed to dump the ball somewhere." Agreed with my fellow aggie.
It depends where the weight is and how your body deals with it. A man who's top heavy, especially with a big beer belly, isn't affected the same as a man who's got bigger legs. Also, a man who's got a lot of muscle within that weight will be a lot better equipped to move that weight around and shouldnt be bothered by it. Lowry is bigger than most point guards, but he's also more muscular than most. He's also like that from head to toe, so I doubt weight has anything to do with it. I think more than likely he was favoring his bruised knee and that caused him to make an awkward movement, which seized up his back.
Aren't we all? Not concerned with the final result since this is the game in which Adelman appears to be determined to give the younger guys some playing time. The regulars did fine in the minutes they did play. DeJuan Blair is a beast.
In addition to the rebounding issue, this team lacks toughness to me. Our 2 toughest players on the team aren't 100% and I don't mean Yao. I don't understand why Dampier hasn't been signed. He won't get the bulk of the minutes, but he does bring shot blocking and toughness. Even with a healthy team, I don't see us beating Dallas, San Antonio, nor LA in a 7-game series. I also see them going at least 6 games with teams they should beat in the playoffs like Utah, OKC, etc. I know February is a ways away and things should change by then, but right now we are soft.
If we dont beat Dallas it wont be due to lack of toughness.. And not beating the spurs in 7? did our starters not just handle theirs? On any given night they may be able to catch houston sleeping and beat them....but in 7 games? There's a reason why they've lost to younger and quicker teams lately. They can't keep up over the long haul. And any team that takes fouls like houston can't be soft. What we lacked was rebounding, but we also had our starting center out. He not only grabs 10 of them, but takes up a lot of space. We also had or best or second best guy at boxing out sitting out.
Ab couldnt keep his composure and Battier can't maintain this 'new' offense aggressiveness. Ab, you see kmartin is hot, you give him the ball and stop going 1 on 1. We had th spurs but you had to be the hero. And battier, dont go to your old bad JVG habits of just standing in the corner 3. Move the **** around even if you dont have the ball you can still CREATE oppurtinities for others. Cheke has spoken
I'm not basing my comments on tonight's game at all. This is about the current team when all healthy. I'll give you this, of the 3 teams that I listed as the Rockets not beating in a 7-game series, the Spurs are the team we have the best shot at beating. I will however continue to stand by my belief that we are a soft team. First of all, we can't keep anyone out the paint when Yao is out and that ain't gonna fly in the playoffs. Secondly, we aren't a good rebounding team. Having a 7'6'', guy, our only center, that's playing limited minutes coupled with other forwards <6'9" won't cut it. The Rockets are definitely a talented team, but I wish they had the toughness of teams like Boston, LA, and even the Bobcats (yea I said the Bobcats).
Wrong, wrong, wrong. We battled and sometimes beat those teams that you mentioned without Yao. There was a lot that was accomplished within that 42-40 season that apparently you missed.
It's the preseason, so it's hard to assess any team's toughness IMO. No team is going to risk injury in a meaningless game. Our starters did well last night, but it's a different story when Parker and Ginobili are driving into the paint and initiating contact every chance they get instead of settling for jumpshots, and Duncan and Parker pick-and-rolling teams to death. (The same of course goes for the Rockets.) That said, I think the Spurs have the components to contend for the title if healthy. Jefferson seems more comfortable, Blair looked great, and we haven't seen Splitter yet. I expect them to start slow as always but be in the mix come playoffs.
As far as the loss goes, you can't expect much when your big man and 2 top scorers either sits out or plays less than 20 mins. So from that aspect, they played a good game.
