1st you guys need to stop bashing youre teams players. If you think TMac sucks then turn in your Rockets jersey...stop posting on a Rockets board. Become a Dallas or S.A. fan. TMac is a Houston Rocket. Some games he plays well some not so well. Oh well. Get over it. No 1 and done this season! G0 R0CKETS!!!
Hey McGrady, I might not know anything about B-Ball but you don't know ANYTHING ABOUT HAVING ANY HEART. Impose your will on that...
The difference btw a 20th pick and 24th pick is negilible. THe playoff experience for many who haven't been there (Scola, Landry, AB) is priceless.
I find it ironic you call us shortsighted when you're popping up after every loss. "L3ts ship T-Bac@@$@ he can't play." "L3ts go for a l0tt3ry pick omg1!1!11. Scola and L@ndry will take us to the promised land w/ whatever we gain from McGrady." You call McGrady inconsistent when the rest of the role players haven't been showing up on a nightly basis also. It's ridiculous seeing people who hate McGrady attempt to take advantage of a loss to give their spiel. There is NO ONE we could get in return for McGrady that can offer us what he does. Absolutely no one. Yao will come back next season, and probably will be near what he was this season. If he stays healthy the Rockets will be contenders. It's always been this way - don't try to put a spin to it. If McGrady was out instead of Yao we probably would be in more dire straights based on history. Then again, if it was McGrady out I highly doubt you'd be posting these unwarranted criticisms. You'd be talking about who the Rockets should draft in the lottery.
part of being a fan is knowing your team's weakness and accepting that sometimes your best player really isnt that great but you still cheer for them... I think Mcgrady sucks as a team leader and best scorer for a team, but I still watch every Rocket game and still cheer and hope that Mcgrady has a good shooting night....
I agree that McGrady should be dealt, but I don't think we should tank the rest of the year for a mid-first round pick. I'd prefer to instill a winning attitude in the players we intend to keep, and have at it next year with Yao, improved Scola, and whatever we can get for McG.
Yep, playing basketball for 10 years with a bad back; attempting to play injured numerous times and being aggressive even when the shot isn't falling means McGrady has no heart. Get off these boards you tool. You're disgusting.
I understand people get frustrated with TMac but still man...its horrible to see Tmac sucks every post. Maybere there should be a dedicated TMac Basher thread.
We talkin about the same Mcgrady here? Unless when you mean "stay aggressive" you mean jack up jumpshots, which I can do to... There is only so much you can blame injuries on a player who continuously under achieves year after year. Just notice how convenient his shoulder injury is.... Right after the 22 game winning streak ends....
what can I say... People have the right to be not just frustrated, but calling out for Mcgrady's head... He is shooting an atrocious 35% in his last 10 games... He is slowly becoming a detriment to this team.... 98% of the league can score 21 ppg on only 35%.... and he is our best player....
Today, the Spurs shot the ball great and took away easy shots from our role players. I didn't think the Rockets played as bad a first half as the score indicated. Finley and Parker just couldn't miss in the first half I also have to critisize Rick Adelman for starting Head in place of Battier. Not that Head was horrible or anything...its just that when you start EVERY single game, and all of a sudden you are asked to come off the bench to stop an all-star calibur bench player, it'll throw you off big time. Battier hasn't been a bench player in 3 years now. He's a guy who needs to be in the lineup from the tip to get a feel for the game and to get in rythem. I've never seen him look so bad defensively before. You can tell he wasn't right today. I've seen him look bad offensively, but he's always been a smart defender, but today he made some un-Battier like fouls, didn't close out, but instead jumped out at jump shots. Its kind of like what JVG did last year vs. the Suns when he started Novak to try to match their smaller lineup, it backfired completely. Avery Johnson did the same thing in the playoffs when he benched Diop to match up with Golden State...you saw how that turned out. We should stick with whats been working for us. If Battier started the game, maybe Finley doesn't get in such a great rythem early on and have 18 pts in 17 min. It may not seem like a big deal, but little things that change a consistant team can throw a team off enough against a good team. Luckily we have 5 easier teams to play to help us get our confidence back and make a push for homecourt advantage. Its games like this when I miss Yao, one of few people who gives Tim Duncan trouble on both ends...
i'm a little upset about the way the game was played out. i thought we could've played better in some areas. but the result wasn't of any surprise at all. we have to keep focused and win the next 4 games on the road. if we can do that, we are still in good shape.
Time to play Jackson an extra 10-12 mpg, play Novak and Harris about 12 mpg each, and add some offense, give Mac's shoulder some rest, and do whatever you can to teach Head how to move the ball and pass with a higher IQ. I would like to see BJ play more in tandem with both Rafer and with Mac. I know this might sound strange - but Novak is young and not all that slow compared to a 35 yr old Finley. 6-10 might have created a defensive msmatch out on the perimeter for Finley. Or Harris. This team does have a small chance of winning in the playoffs and we have try something different - since the status-quo vs. the top 6 teams seems to be shakey. I love this team. Rick it is time to think outside the box.
Just noticed- Our Starting Point Guard ONE assists- Michael Jordan Alston Our Back Up Point Gurad ZERO assists- Bobby Jackson What happened to the Team Game? What was wrong with Battier right from the beginning he looked troubled?
How has Mcgrady underachieved every year? Just how much should he have achieved? I'd love for you to enlighten us with what he should have accomplished in his career. Don't just go around and throw out terms and phrases. Back it up with details. It seems like you're just hating at this point. I could be a troll and say something like "look how covenient Yaos injury was... right before the olympics... lets him rest up" but that would be completely untrue.
i think we played as poorly as the scores indicated. we trailed from early in the 1st, the gap widened each quarter and we're never able to make a run. and a lot of times, opposing team players "can't miss" has a lot to do with your own defense. our defensive intensity and approaches on defending the p&r were below par in the first half. finally, i think battier not starting might've been overblown a bit. the last time we beat the spurs, we also started head (per battier's own idea and adelman agreed). were we complaining the same thing? (in fact i remember quite a few here thought that was a genius move...)
Over the last 10 games McGrady is averaging 21 points 6 assists 7 rebounds 1 steal shooting 37% from the field. His FG% is way down, but he's still impacting other facets of the game. It's not like he's going out there and not contributing.
