I don't believe we are. We have marginal talent and it shows in our record. This team is right where they should be really. It's hard to win games when you just don't have the horses to do it.

Jeffries should get more minutes than Hill if he's not traded. Hill doesn't know how to defend and he doesn't know how to block out.

The starters ARE doing well. They always keep the score close or have the lead until the bench comes in. Remember last year how the bench carried the team? Lowry would come in with his high energy together with Landry and wrecked havoc. They were also the closers too.

Now you have ball hog Brooks off the bench stinking it up not running any plays. He IS the reason why the bench sucks. I do agree though, and I said it last week, switch them. We're close enough to the trade deadline where Brooks will be traded anyways and Lowry can go back being the starter. Yes, the starters might suffer some with Martin and Scola taking less shots due to brooks but at least the bench will contribute.

    Hahaha....

I actually think garbage time will come after the FIRST QUARTER. That would be unprecedent.

I notice he sits out a long time when he does go to the bench.

Seriously the guy is leading our team in scoring and he sits out basically the whole 2nd qt. He didn't come back in the game until 2 seconds left in the 2nd qt for the final play which Lowry ended up taking the 3 which has become a theme for this team when the shot clock is going down.

I have never seen a guy who leads the team in scoring sit out the whole quarter of a competitive game when he's not hurt or in foul trouble.

Lowry didn't shoot much until the game was out of reach.

All that glitters is not Brooks.

I mean all that Brooks is not gold.

Too bad we can't even trade him for picks at this point.

Agreed. Also, Lowry needs to lay off of the donuts and XBox and start practicing his jumper like that ClutchFan poster recommended. If he isn't going to practice his jumper, he needs to stop shooting so much and start driving to the basket like the old pre-nice-contract Lowry. Like when we would endearingly refer to him as a bowling ball. I want that Lowry back. Not this errant three-point chucker.

The thing is though, he can't play the same way he used to last year coming off the bench now that he's a starter. He'd be gassed mid way in the quarter. Also, he has to pace the game. If he's switched back the the bench, I guarantee you, he'd be back pushing the ball as hard as last year. He can do that since he's only in the game for a short amount of time.

It's nothing new. We beat the lousier teams and crumble to the good teams.

The Spurs play hard for 48 minutes.

    The Rockets? Not so much.

I think it's the donuts & XBox that allow him to turn on bowling ball mode.

I didn't expect us to win, the Spurs are better than the Rockets. I thought we did pretty well to stay in the game until the fourth quarter, but then the Spurs decided to really play, and the rockets couldn't overcome terrible performances by Brooks and Martin. Scola was relentless.

(except for Lowry) Its old for a rebuilding team(who's avg. age is around 22-24), and Battier is past his prime in the NBA, Scola is old but he is kind of the exception b/c his game will let him age gracefully, instead of having one big down fall ala McGrady or Francis...

I mean if you look at the big picture, the rockets are like 4 or 5 years(if they rebuild properly) away from contending, and by that time Martin and Hayes will be past their prime and in their 30's, with Scola and Battier being well past their prime and into their 30's. Giving us a very short window to contend, if that!!

Just another example of how coach Rick seems lost on the bench not using the right players in their right roles.

Sitting K-mart nearly the whole second qtr was a joke.

Under using players or the inconsistent. Minutes they get must have something to with the negative attitudes and lackluster play.

Coach Rick has it tough granted, but you still have to do something a little different and take a few risks.

The definition of insanity is to do the same things over & over again, then expect a different result. Rick has us stuck in a basketball 'ground hog day'.

lol at people saying Martin sucked.

The guy was on fire in the 1st Q. N then adelman is going to take Kmart out with 2 min left in the 1st Q. The first thing that came to my mind is Adelman is going to put Kmart back early in the 2nd Q... But nooooooooooooooooo he put him back with 1.45 left. Why would he even put him back with less than 2 min left?

in the 2nd half.... what did u exspected martin do? The guy goes for 10 points in the 10 min and gets taking out for almost whole 2nd Q...... Kmart felt like "WTF". Everybody in the starting line up played more than Kmart have.

I notice that Adelman always bsing kmart. Kmart is our leading scorer. And yet.... Adelman treats him as a scrab....

And how about Rick with the face-palm 'can't bear to look at this game' at the end? Great drunken sea captain impersonation.
