Adelman is letting KMart get COL all throughout the 2nd quarters of games. Tonight Martin re-entered the game in the 2nd quarter with 1:45 left. Like, what's the point - he's going to get hot again in one minute? Brooks is staying in too long, as others have pointed out a lot.
wow some of you guys are over reacting. First of all, we just lost to THE BEST team in the league, no shame in that. We have no superstars/all stars and we hung with a team with 3 all stars (well at least deserving allstarts) right until the end....no shame in that. Even when we had a full team, with yao and tmac, this is a team that we were not sure to beat. The only problem I have with tonight is AB. The guy just plan sucks. Lee made mistakes, but at least he was playing good D. Manu is just too good a player to be stopped 1v1. Scola did his thing and kept us in the game. Hayes was great again and Patpat did a great job today coming off the bench. But I do have one question for you guys...What are we realistically expecting from this season? To me there really is no one other there that could turn this team around this year. We prob will make the playoffs with a trade, leading to another 1st round exit. Wouldn't a better draft pick/chances for a top 3 be a more beneficial option?
Our starters were dead tired at the end... RA should give the young guys more time to play... It looks like other team use 10 peple against us 5... You never win with less people in any game. Simply as that..
well ummm wow 1. Hill cant play defense neither can aaron 2. Martin sucked (but its okay he is very consistent he just had a bad game) 3. scola was great 4. poor defense 5. bad shot selection near the end of the 3rd (kept shooting 3's) 6. rockets suck in general so no suprise 22-27 Why do some players get paid millions if they dont give an effort on defense or the game in general. Only winners should make millions lol
Scola/Hayes/Patterson as usual hustled and played a consistent game. Martin's shots not going down, became a turnover and foul machine. AB lost his shooting, speed, and now he can't dribble either. I'm don't see a way to fix things without a trade at this point....
Rockets were doing pretty well agains the best team in NBA, despite KM MIA.....it was Manu who broke the game, then he could sit, but the game was broken and couldn't be fixed with Scola and no one else....
Talking about Manu getting his shots against CL. I think he got his no matter who guarded him. He is just that good.
The problem is this right now.. Portland's holy **** schedule is here. So is Houston's. Now what you have to do is stop quitting on the offense at times when things get a little rough. One thing about this team is the panic that they can have at times when times get tough in a game. So in order for us to make a come back, the Rockets need a huge showing in one of these next two games to not fall too far behind. 4 games out of 8th is not death but these "good effort, but no W" thing has to stop. The Rockets also need to figure out why they can't get that stop. You know, the stop when you are DOWN 4-7 points and you got that momentum going, but the opponent gets that layup, or back breaking 3. Defense is the key here and while everyone wants to blame coach Adelman, we need to look at the REAL reason why they are awful on D right now. Poor rotations, spotty at best defense in the paint and players who just can't defend 1 on 1 when you do on man to man.
Kyle Lowry (24) Kevin Martin (27) Shane Battier (32) Luis Scola (30) Chuck Hayes (27) How is that an "old" lineup??? It's got to be in the younger half of starting lineups in the league.
Those guys coasted for 3 quarters. Then Manu said, 'It time to end game - need espresso' and started toying with the Rockets D.
Copy that! This team is a whole new team away from contending. Morey's folly? I believe there is some talent, but the Rockets are more an assortment of contracts than a team of players. I don't think they are as good as they were last year. If you really think about it for many years now the Rockets have had NO continuity, every year they are like a "pick up" game.
I don't know who to blame for this game.but for me i say scola, lowry, patterson and hayes are the only ones who had a good game. correct me if im wrong
Starters are OK. Recent trends: No matter how big a lead Rockets have, they instantly lose it with 2nd unit. 2nd unit simply can't stop anyone nowadays. Tonight they shot relatively well except AB, but they gave up even more.
I was referring to the 3rd qtr stretch when he hit like 3 3pters in a row against Lee which broke the game wide open. RA should have tried SB on Manu when that happened.
Try to include him in a package. If nothing good comes up,he can traded in the off-season. I would like to see him return,if he can somehow pull things together. The main problem I feel is his resentment of not getting a long term contract. He wants more money than Lowry, and doesn't deserve it. If he walks free,I can live with it.
