watch the game. the first 2 drives he got to the rim pretty good. i think their shotblocking altered his shots that's all. but like you said, his explosiveness hasn't fully returned yet.

but the other shot he took was a wide open jumper off a screen on an inbounds pass (a go-to play for him) and he missed. then the bad shot at the end.

so he took 3 good shots, and one bad shot.

and i agree with ron. if he isn't healthy, sit until he is. same with battier.

Get to the rim....and TAKE ON THE DARNED CONTACT....

Force them to foul you........get into them....that is what they did to us.

We have too many panzies as drivers on this team.

Is Battier becoming another Hayes? Even his intangibles are not seem anymore.

His injury is causing it but he has deteriorated a TON from last year.

45% shooting again by the opponent won't get it done. When was the last time the rox smothered a team on defense? When was the last time a team shot 40% against the rox?

Battier is another player that we will be asking why we did not trade him when he still had some value.

Ugh, the last play pissed me off.

They let this and Knicks games get away. Hopefully, it won't bite them later when competing for a spot for the playoffs.

With TSlack on the floor, that's going to be difficult. He doesn't defend people.

So I guess Scola man scoring in his grill was TSlack man? What about Dalembert cancelling out Yao offensively? What about the times Battier was gaurding Iggy? How about Miller with the penetration? Its a team wide let down and that includes the coach.

These next couple weeks are gonna define the rest of the season for us. If we can get some consistent play going form everyone, and pull it together, we have a chance at making a nice playoff run. But if stuff lilke the last few games continues throughout this stretch, then it will be time to start talking about "what's the best way to blow this team up", etc. etc.

I agree with you, I guess what i was tryin to say is that if he was really feeling confident (physically and mentally) he would have capped of those first two drives with a dunk and 1. He was making an effort, which is good to see, it just seemed like he was struggling to make that effort.

Tofu is soft and starts with T. I needed the alliteration. TSlack, Testy and Tofu are our Brick Three.

Note that I did not say TSlack was responsible for all those ... you did. I did say that TSlack was responsible for at least 10 or so points in the first quarter alone. Whether it is not getting in front of your man, not fighting through the screen, not getting back on D, not challenging the shooter, etc. those are all defensive lapses that result in points. Note that these are all effort things, not skill things.

If a person plays tough D and still gets scored on, kudos to the offense; you can't do much about it. But I'm talking about not even trying.

Scola,Yao,artes, tracy, brooks, rafer, landry, everyone on this team is a problem. Scola can't defend, battier can't defend,Yao is positional, tracy can't defend, rafer can't defend. When the team is giving up 97ppg and 45% shooting, its a group effort on the defensive end. When Tracy and ron was out, no one was defending. I've been trying to tell people the team defense is what's losing games, but no one cares.

I agree that the lack of team defense is killing us; however, we seemed to be winning without TSlack in the lineup. Why?

Could it be that his defense is worse than that of his replacement?

You don't know how important something is until you don't have it.

With JVG, we can always count on great D and I mean GREAT D. We also know that our offense is going to be very boring to watch. That didn't get us too far. :(

So we went out and got exciting offense. In comes Adelman.

We no longer play defense because we are going to blow the other teams out with our newly found motion offense. :D

I am just gald that I am not Morey.

Man, he brought nothing to the game...He was out there playing that Charles Barkley defense.....Battier is nothing more than a decoy at this point

exactly. i fact, i'd go so far as to say he's been the best player on our team this year.
