i got the 70% part , but he's on twitter, which limits the words, so he could mean that tmac did his routine that goes up to, or ends with 30 footers. Meaning he could start from 12-15 feet in and work his way out..and that he hit 70% of those...i'm just saying, maybe you're right, but tweets get shortened sometimes...
he always ends his shootaround routine with 28-30 ft 3pt shots. every player has a certain shootaround routine that he follows. he's going to play very soon it appears. i'm assuming dallas on 11/25.
Uneven but important win before the Atlanta game. I hope Ariza does not make it a habit of shooting 13 3pters.
Ariza is taking so many shots per game, naturally he will average now 15-18ppg. That doesn't make him a better player though.
True, but Ron is an already established player. RA has given Ariza the nod to do what he is doing. This year is still very much an experimental year with our stars out (I realize TMAC may be coming back shortly). If we were looking for a championship then I am confident that Ariza wouldn't be shooting the volumes he is. I like what Ariza is doing, he definitely needs to work on his handles and/or learn from experience what will work from him. As I mentioned earlier, it's better to do this in the situation the Roxs face w/o Yao.
shouldn't you know how good of a dribbler you are in practice facing guys like shane? and doesn't he watch videos of himself? from that, he should know. if he wants to work on these things, do them in practice or on his own time. you do not practice your handles or off the dribble ability in real game situations unless you know it's going to work. it hasn't worked so far.
handles are something very difficult to develop once your reach that stage. Your game has such a rigid structure, that you can only make small strides. Coming into the league guys like T-Mac and Kobe had the handles of a pointguard, that is why they are so good off the dribble. If i remember correctly, that was the reason tmac was #8 + his size
Ariza has small hands and weak upper body power, that's why he could be so loose with the ball sometimes. Long arms != big hands. Players with small hands are usually more turnover prone, see Yao, Swift, Tyrus Thomas, Kwame Brown etc.
he's not playing until after 11/23. he just dressed up in uniform today to see "what it feels like since it's been so long."
I read this and the first person that came into my mind was Chris Paul. I bet he's like the guy that no one likes playing pick-up ball with because he's just anal about everything. Complains yet will break every rule in the game if he can get away with it. Yet all of us myself included would welcome him with open arms onto the Rockets if it ever came to it.
I haven't been watching much basketball as of late, but WTF is wrong with Ariza and his massive amount of 3's attempted? One game I saw 12, and tonight I see 13. Freaking ridiculous.
