When brooks came in for Lowry, we almost lost the lead if it weren't were for some luck and hustle from our big-men. The only thing he did was commit two turnovers in the final five minutes when we absolutely didn't need it. I say give Lowry a chance to be a starter. If he sucks, then put Brooks back in. Not a big deal.
Nope, just telling you what he thinks. The dude understands the game when he isn't cracking bad song jokes.
Or, how about we leave things exactly as they are because Brooks and Lowry are both fine, excellent point guards in their current roles.
Couldn't hurt to see how things go with Lowry as starter. Things can't get worse than they were when Lowry was out and Brooks had to do most of the work.
Do you remember when Darren Collison dusted AB in crunch time? In that critical division game?? Lowry is a more CAPABLE defender than Aaron due to his larger size, but he has more of a defensive instinct and his skills are better. Stop talking out of your ass
There was a reason why Adelman went with Lowry in the 4th for most of our games this season, and its because he knew that Brooks couldn't cut it in clutch-time and would commit some dumb turnovers. These are also the same games where Lowry had to dig us back out of the hole that Brooks and the rest of the starters had dug us into in the 1st half. To be fair, it wasn't entirely Brook's fault--the other starters were sucking big-time and he was the only guy who could hit a shot. Brooks can put up 20+ points and the rockets will lose. Lowry puts in below 10 points and some assists but he makes both the offense and defense flow better than anyone except for guys named Kidd, Nash, Paul, and Rondo. Lowry=win.
My observation might not be what you want o hear, even so here it is.. When the starting five played tonight the Rockets game was dominated by Brooks and always seemed to be sort of flat and uninteresting. When the second five played the game seemed to be exciting and full of promise. y
and the debate rages on . . . Adelman and Morey will make the final call on who starts next year. They both bring something to the team that is needed. So it may not matter who starts, just matters that we have both guys to fit the situation we need them in. Heck Adelman plays them together at times so that shows you how effective they are for this team. Anyway, i'm glad we: 1. got the win 2. Hill played well again 3. Lowry and Ariza came back Now they get a couple of days to practice with each other and play the nets for hopefully another win.
Lowry makes everyone better, players are running hard when Lowry is on the floor because everybody knows he has a chance to get the ball and do something, that is the beauty having a pure point guard. I would love to play with Lowry if I am a NBA player.
Define "most".... If Adelman really thought that, why has he been giving Brooks the last shot in every clutch situation in the past week or so? That is one of the dumbest things I have seen posted. Brooks put up 20 a game in a playoff series which the Rockets won and carried a team offensively the farthest they have been in the playoffs in over a decade.
One thing is clear from this game... Martin/Ariza/Battier/Budinger/Lowry/Brooks is too many people for SF/SG/PG minutes. Someone is leaving this summer and Battier is probably the odd man out (sadly )
Actually he signed for two 10 days, but they decided not to sign him for the rest of the season.. he's back in RGV... they talked about it in the pregame show I believe.
Uhmmm if you haven't recently noticed in the games where Lowry has been out and Brooks put up +20--we've been losing.
1. Because no one else out there can. 2. Because Brooks takes it upon himself to be the Man. Only problem is he chokes.
And the rockets won because we had Artest + Battier hounding Brandon Roy all night along with Yao's presence inside. Brooks had a critical meltdown in one of those Portland games if I recall that had Yao and Artest yelling at his face. He's a great shooter, but he isn't clutch, and when his shot isn't falling, the rockets fail miserably.
