hopefully this fight was something that we need to create a fire under our butts! i really hope that tmac and yao gets things started with this game and hopefully artest can get outta his slump against the beaten up spurs. i really hope that barnes, nash, and shaq all get suspended for multiple games for their cheap shots and hopefully the league did see rafer's cheap shot..or maybe this is the start of a new era where brooks is our starting PG
yeah i agree artest is a very GOOD PHSYICAL defender and hes like to rough up(grabbing and using his body) his opponents with his size and strength, he plays a lot of guys very tight and a quicker opponent will beat him off the dribble quite a lot, and mcgrady right now with all his injuries, (lost a lot of his quickness)he simply CANNOT guard anyone right now;/ and shane battier is a smart, more disciplined defender that trys to stay in front of his opponents and make his opponents beat him by shooting over him.
ron artest has done that to T'mac before too so stop worrying when you play basketball you dont always want cheerleaders coming and congratulating you when you are trying to win a game. i know they're being good teammates and all but sometimes when people are so competitive and into the game they dont want cheerleaders on the sideline congratulating them on every play. And the reason T'mac pushed Scola was because he was pissed, think about it, if you just got knocked down from behind by a giant mother****er named Shaq i think you would be pretty pissed off too. So stop worrying and calm your nuts because this team is the last team to have a fight with one another.
Good point. That could very well be a big part of it. I mean, this is basically the same team as last season that was one of the best defensive rebounding teams in the league. I hope Battier gets back soon. I'm interested to see how he impacts our defense and reboudning.
That's pretty funny. That must have been what took a chunk out of Nash's neck. That will likely be considered throwing a punch. Brooks will probably be starting for the next few games. I wouldn't be surprised if there are an additional few one-game suspensions.
Ehhh...i'm sure to be in the minority on this, but, with a double-digit lead, Reefer should've just complained to the refs about the Matt Barnes thing. I'm ready for Brooks to take over. And, if that is Reefer's leadership during one of his rare good games, we are in bad luck for the bad games. Reefer should've let that one go.
I agree. It wasn't worth it. Rafer should've just set a hard pick on him at the other end. I'm surprised the ref standing right in front of the play didn't call it. I guess he was gazing at T-Mac's heat check.
Rafer is a dumbass. Did he honestly feel threatened by Steve Freakin' Nash? He might have just gotten himself suspended with that crap.
LOL. damn i want to find that charity fight between him and roy jones jr (i think) where he got nailed in the grill.
This was a great win for the Rockets. Yao canceled out what Shaq did, Rafer and Brooks took away Nash's playmaking, which is hard to do, which then greatly affected Stoudamire's game. If Nash isn't making plays, Stoudamire isn't gonna score much. I guess Tmac was really sick the last couple of days and I'm sure the 3 days of rest really helped him and Yao get some energy back. Yao looked much more energetic and Tmac's shot was on and his post up game looked really nice tonight, along with some timely 3's. If Artest struggles offensively, I don't mind as much because he is still affective on the defensive end. Whether he guards a great scorer or not, he knows when to help, when to play the passing lanes, and he can still make good passes and set hard screens to free up teammates. Tonight we also saw great production from our point guards. When they both score and attack the basket the way they did today, we are a very dangerous team, and I love the attitude Rafer brings to our team. Even though he's a little guy, he won't take crap from anybody. After the last game, we needed a little fight to show people we aren't the same team anymore. Scola and Landry did an excellent job of closing out on Amare and boxing him out. Make him take a jumper over you, and don't let him get easy put backs on rebounds. He never found his rythem today and got frustrated when Nash was forced to shoot more or give to Shaq down low. Landry also brought great energy . Hayes was solid on defense once again. As a team, our defense resembled that of last year's. People were getting the rotations right, and provided good help on Shaq to keep Yao out of foul trouble. Offensively, its great to know that even if one of our big 3 doesn't have a great game shooting (Artest) we have guys that can pick it up offensively. Brooks is becoming a consistent double-figures scorer now and Alston found his shot today. Yao was solid throughout and looked MUCH more confident in his post game (still not getting much lift off the ground) and Tmac played aggressive as well. Nobody was trying to force anything. Artest knew he was struggling, so he deferred to everybody else, and did all the little things that we needed. We let the game come to us instead of trying to force things which is what happened the last couple of games. Overall, this was a great win for us, and we have to make a move now, the Hornets, Spurs, and Mavs are all struggling right now. Its important that we win our division to get a top 4 seed at least, hopefully higher. The Hornets are relying HEAVILY on CP3 right now, the Spurs's age is showing, and the injuries aren't helping them either, and the Mavs days as contenders are done IMO. Dirk continues to disappear when his team needs him the most (0 points in the 4th vs. LA, 1 point in the 4th vs. Houston). This is the time to get a run together and set the tone for the rest of the season. I knew that whipping in L.A. had to do us some good. This team is too talented, too tough, and too prideful to let that kind of beat down slide.
wow, at least Rockets show we still have hope.. Salute to artest even didn't care to take part of the fight.. or else he will get double too.
**** that rooster haired Steve Nash. That Canadian ain't hard. WTF did he run up on Rafer for? Did he see what happened or did he assume that wanksta Matt Barnes didn't start it? Don't run up on Rafer unless you want to get your ass laid out. That said, I would still trade T-Mac for Steve Nash.
In all honesty, that has nothing to do with rebounding. I've read many post about the rox having trouble rebounding and most if not all point to the lack of size, length, and quickness especially when Yao goes out. People talking about boxing out, but most of rebounding is putting a body on a guy, releasing and getting the ball at its highest point. Just lke the fade route in football, the guy has to get the ball at the apex. The rox have a lot of ground rebounders. That's not such a bad thing, but they need the guards to rebound ft line extended and the bigs have to chase the balls down shoe blocks extended. Also, deke used to haul down his share in his limited minutes. As brooks said, this needs to be corrected.
Nash is a teddy bear. He was more fired-up tonight than he was after the cheap-shot Robert Horry foul in the playoffs. Reefer has an over-inflated sense of his own importance, and his days are numbered as far as significant on court minutes. And not a minute too soon
Nah, but seriously at 1:33 Nash gives Rafer a nudge and slickly plays if off by grabbing Rafers' jersey and falling down. Then Rafer took a swing at Nash and pissed, but his thumb grazed his neck.
