rafer great game in comparison to...well the rest of the games
i dont know if it was because he was playing well or the other way around but he was pushing the ball upcourt harder and faster than usual every time he could (he prob wanted to take advantage of nash's poor defense)

yes tmac and yao rebounded from horrendous games and they said that the meeting and emphasis on team play and rotation were key but was that what really happened? yao still got a butt load of post up plays where he didnt even look for open players to kick out to (1 assist) and tmac was on fire and got alot of his points from iso plays (2 assists)

imo they played the same way they've been playing except pushing it slightly more but still the same. come on, don't blame the coach's offense for bad games and then say it's the reason for wins when that really wasn't the reason

I guess he really wanted yao getting hurt, together with tmac who would be the second bird with the same stone.

Some much needed encouragement. TMac and Yao show some signs of life. Brooks is consistently making a huge difference, he is clearly the highlight of the season so far. On the other hand, I don't remember EVER seeing Artest shoot this poorly. Scola had an off night, and Barry looks completely worthless. Important, bounce back win. A loss would have been a mental disaster.

    good win.

aaron brooks is playing with a lot of confidence right now.

tmac continued to take cringe-inducing shots, but he was making them tonight.

Rafer shouldn't be suspended at all. He was just retaliating to Barnes like any human would. If the call against Barnes was initially called than the fight would have never happened. I know the NBA will review the fight and I'm sure that they will fine Barnes, on top of his technical foul fine and suspend him for at least one game. The rest of the players involved should be fine.

There was way better movement. Only at the end did they do there one on one thing. They set their screens and ran their plays well. It was a whole nother story from the laker games.

    Nash gets owned by rafer...

Amare gets outscored by brooks... (and more offensive boards)

    Who knew?

I was nervous when the suns went up at the very beginning.

It may be nothing, but I've noticed some possible discontemptment (if that's a word) between 2 of our big 3 and Scola. I noticed a couple of examples were Artest hit a big three and the whole bench came to congratulate him and then Scola came up and he shrugged him off. During tonights scirmish, Scola was holding TMac back and Tmac seemed to have pushed him. Like I said, this could be coincidense or nothing at all, but maybe there's something going on with our team behind closed doors.

it's just one game. they avg 102 pts before this. and amare was as efficient as anyone in the history of the NBA on 25 pts on 12 shots.

did you see the game? yao could have had 5 or 6 assists easily had they made the open shots and layups.

DaDakota....before the game you said we would lose...

I couldnt believe you posted that since your one of the veterans on this forum

I know where your coming from with the recent struggles and its very very understandable to post that in the pre game thread...but to all of the guys hating....give it one game at a time. I'm sure there will be a loss later in the season that will start alot of TMac suck threads or Trade Yao threads.

but for now...we're still trying to gel. Give it some time.

the only downside to the game was
    artest's shooting performance. but
he will bounce back. and we need
to get that doctor in phoenix out to
houston asap. buy him a house and pay
his bills. do w/e to keep him there!

A win is a win, it's something to celebrate. That being said, don't put too much stock into it, it's fools gold. The Suns played like crap, and we didn't play all that well either as a team. We just had a couple of players carry the offense, but the passing was still anything but 'crisp' and not much motion out there on the court, really. Oh yeah, and rebounding is becoming more and more of an issue with each passing game. More size at the 4/5 might be a good idea moving forward/as we approach the trade deadline.

That being said II, there were signs of mild progress, and progress is what we're aiming for here, so a reason to be optimistic...

Great team effort. All of our players came out aggressive and hungry for the win from the start, and I'm particularly proud of Tracy, Yao, and Rafer for fighting their way out of slumps, and keeping confident that if they play hard and for each other they can win. I think Artest's call for a conference yesterday was great, and got the players closer together, and more on the same page.

The offense was much more fluid today, the defense was great, and I'm hoping to see more of that everyugame.

    Great games. Plenty of highlights:
    1. Team play: Yao hustled, Barry back pass, Landry nice finish
    2. AB's block on Hill and tip-in
    3. Artest's 2 and Nash's 3 that beat the clock
    4. Fight, fight, fight (actually, there were just Shaq's pushes).
    5. Yao's dream-shake on Shaq

Shaq is just a wuss, pushing from behind and acting like he's a peacemaker, pshhhhh. We all know Shaq can't punch right, he's the weakest fighter in the whole NBA. Aaron Brooks can take out Shaq!
