And what other option did vangundy have when battier had not joined us? Derek Anderson? Bob Sura? David Wesley? Tmac played solid defense when he wanted to, but that was rare.
maked me crazy. should be win easy they did not grasped the opportunity in the first half! but i am glad of the outcome.
Imagine if they had Durant instead of Oden. They'd be so much better. This series might even be over by now.
Yes, vangundy do not have much choice. our rotation is much better than vangundy's rockets now. but i have seen tmac put good defence on kobe several times in the past. I remember even without battier, our overall team defence is on top five. Look tmac and old wesley play very good defence under vangundy.
I'm a bit annoyed that even tho we won the game, the highlights just show a bunch of trailblazers making shots.
I was very happy to hear the commentators saying TMac is here because he still thinks he's part of this Rocket team. It was a very warm a fuzzy comment and I feel kinda bad having bashed him so much before.
Victory is great. So I'm gald to say it's 3-1. On the interview after the game, Yao remain sober minded and said it's still 0-0 until we take the fourth win against Por. Keep fighting!
Our Batman did great job, he was the player of this game. Artest was a very bad shooter in this game. Yao did everything in his way. AB, nothing improved. Socal, Lowry, Wafer, Landry, Hayes, etc. Thank U for all you guys
That was a close game, in the end Rockets won and I felt like a big rock fell of my shoulders. I hope Rockets can close the series in Portland and maybe upset the Lakers in the second round.
Good to be back online on CF after a great win! A win is a win, it's there to be taken. I'll take it. But man, the game got me thrilled, my heart was beating like crazy until the last 1.2 seconds or so. I can breathe now. Third period was disappointing though, I was like "can't watch it anymore, please", Blazers seemed unstoppable on O, and then they were up by six into the fourth. And goodness gracious, the Rockets just pulled off a gutsy win. The bearing though, is that, the history of Game 4 losses became history. The ghost has been slain. No let-ups and beat 'em once more! Make it happen - the second round! Go Rockets! About.. The Blazers: They just refuse to give up. They're seriously in for a fight. Roy, Dridge and Outlaw were all knocking down their jumpers and scoring on drives. Even Rudy hit a three with Shane on him. But then again, Blaze FTL. Artest: Darn, he's on bricking mode again folks. 5-20 FGs, 1-5 threes and 1-3 FTs. Instead of pounding it down low, he continues to settle for the uncertain from time to time. What an irony, he has the build of a PF with the mentality of a Kobe - shoot shoot shoot and don't care. Argh. Plus the TOs he had. I have to credit his 9 assists though. And he better play D next time, and then can flex all he want. Roy dropped +21 on him probably because of that. Uh oh Test. Overconfidence kills. Brooks: Put him in the same club as Ron-Ron. 3 PTS, 1-6 FGs, 2 assists and muffed a key FT. Probably brought about by too much pressure on him, but the bottomline, gotta make those freebies. 6-10 FTs in the fourth quarter for the last two games will not get the job done. I can only wonder why RA brings him in to shoot those gimmies for the second straight game. Good luck Mr. Brooks, improve. Yao: Finally. He's clicking on offense, taking advantage when the Blaze played small ball with 'Dridge on the 5, being smart on O, and showed a lot more aggressiveness and assertiveness to move on the halfcourt set. Playing in fluid motion. He gave both Joel and Greg headaches when they didn't front him. Also, as it seemed, the refs were less stringent on Yao. Shane: Simply impressive all-around. RA should hand him a license to shoot instead of Artest. Add his defense. Dang. MVP of the game goes to him IMO. Scola and Landry: Good job covering for Yao on the low block - points, rebounds, and hustle - from these guys. Scola was able to take advantage of the skinny Outlaw at the 4. And Landry came up with modest but key contributions down the stretch, that 18-ft jumper and the rebound against Roy, very vital in a close game. Scola gotta be careful with fouls though. Wafer: Came out with great energy off the bench. The Von Wafer who plays good ball. And his drop pass to Yao for the sledgehammer was sweet. Chuck: Good decision by RA to sub the slower Yao for him on D. And Chuck, man, he made the biggest stop in the game IMO. It was a huge gamble, especially when Roy got much calls in his favor all game long. But dude drew the charge and it saved the Rockets. I give him ultra-props! Also got good support from Shane. Lowry: Home in on the fourth quarter, boy! He didn't disappoint and he deserved the floor more than Brooks. Key deflections, steals, offensive boards (Gotta love the reb against Blake), and should I say - the intentional miss on the freebie. Ho-ho. Rebounds: Hell of a job by the Rockets, especially on the offensive glass. (Scola had 7 of those.) In the fourth, these slowed down what could have been a fiery offensive pace for the Blazers, and crippled their running game. PS: And as always, Greg Old-en's is a freakin' fouling machine. Worse than Mikki Moore.
what a game. We went from a miserable minute where they blocked us 4 times, to Yao's dunk and Shane's 2 three-pointers and the charging and block on Roy. Still, they made a lot of sloppy errors which made the win somewhat less satisfying.
Ron is an offensive liability so far. Since we can't stop or slow down Roy anyway, why don't Rockets put Von in for some of Ron's minutes?
Ron tried to shoot us out of the game. Once he gets into his dribbling mode, there is nothing that will stop him from shooting.
wow, what a gutsy win. we didn't play our A game but made enough plays down the stretch. battier gets the game ball. is there a smarter, more selfless player in the NBA? yao did a good job of not turning the ball over despite being manhandled all game long. he took a beating and fortunately the refs made the right calls and the blazers got in foul trouble. everyone played well with the exception of brooks. we need his offense in game 5. we'll need it more so if we face the lakers. he is the key to stopping our scoring droughts. he's the best player we have off the dribble. he needs to grow up in a hurry. the talent is there, he just needs to jump on the "no guts, no glory" rocket train.
