Gosh Deckard. Don't sugarcoat it - tell us how you really feel... If you think those guys were bad, you should hear the two dweebs on the Mavericks TV games. They take homerism to a new dimension. Listening to them is like watching paint dry S L O W L Y.
The rockets have been to the playoffs several times already. It just brings another season of mediocrity and no closer to a ring. How much better would they have been, if they picked up another lottery pick like a Brandon Roy, instead 2 more wins and a moral victory for trying to make the playoffs.
Many factors go into a bad game like this. We're a young team, on a back to back. These guys are still learning to be professionals. Yes I agree with development in the playoffs but at this point after the season we've had that would be a luxury. We exceeded expectations and we have very young talent that will continue to grow and blossom in the coming years. No one will remember this game when AB and Hill are tearing it up with a inside outside game in 5 years. Or when Yao owns Dwight in their next game. Big picture man.
Come on, wasn't there any bright spots in this game? I saw stats on Scola and Ariza, and they looked pretty good: Scola - 22/10 (another double-double - go Luis!) Ariza - 18/9/3 stls Gotta be happy about something, right? Don't hang your heads.
Scola could have scored 30+ if he would have hit the jumpers they were giving him. Ariza had an OK game, not great, not bad.
Last info I got... Jonathan_Feigen Rockets 23.9 % shooting in 2nd 1/2 worst of season. Of 4 players hurt in 2 days, Hill most likely to play Wed. All doubtful at best.
It seems they always lay eggs on the 2nd of a b2b. Thanks, I didn't get to see the game or highlights, just stats. I'm on a business trip this week and I was tempted to find a bar with NBA league pass. Kinda glad I didn't because I would have been in the same funk that's afflicting the rest of the GARM.
I dunno man, I believe I'm thinking pretty "big picture" when I say that playoff experience would be a huge boon to a team with a 3-4 year peak for its best, oft-injured player, and that's being generous. In other words I think we have to get to the playoffs now in order to have a much better chance in the next 2-3 years, plus I'm impatient. But I will agree and say that one game does not decide the season, or future seasons. But damn how badly we played in the 2nd half, and all those 2nd chance points the bulls got, that kinda stuff just pisses me off. I noticed the same thing and thought I was mad about it until I read your post. Yeah pretty unprofessional there, but I disliked them less than a few announcers for other teams.
Rockets lose, Thunder lose. Not exactly how you make up ground, but at least we get them on the road next game.
You know what pisses me off. Hill got injured, we won't win enough games to make the playoffs. Maybe we will win the lottery, you know some justice would be nice, but i have noticed the NBA seems to be a justice free zone.
Welcome aboard, been on this train for a while now......don't sweat the wins and loses, enjoy the development of the younger players. DD
