Great win and we are now top of the division. It was a tough fight but we won. I think we'll have more trouble if Manu comes back.

Noone would bother trying that against Deke. They'd let him have the ball all game long and he would not have done anything.

If you suggest Yao use his elbow, he would be sitting on the bench with Deke not before long. When Yao raises his arms with elbows out holding the ball, the defender simply has to walk into them without Yao swinging the elbows and Yao'd be called for offensive fouls.

I mean if you don't watch the games thats fine...and i make no bones about it, I am not a fan of yao, but like i said it was a great win. yao made 2 good passes at the end. do you have a better counter to my comment than telling me to get a life circa 1992 4th grade playground smack.

Hardly, the refs were determined to favor Spurs to win from the get-go.
    But Rockets grinded it out.

Why the hell is everyone so down on brooks? He drew double teams and hit a clutch shot in the 4th quarter. Yeh, Parker got the best of him a few times, but Parker does that to every PG in the league.

Brooks went from bench player to playmaker in the 4th quarter and I think he is handling the transition very well. Our record speaks for itself.

It's amazing what a great win! What a shame that this game wasn't broadcasted nationally only on FSN. The NBA is obsessed with Boston and L.A. Why would you not broadcast the #1 vs #2 team in arguably the best division?

Lowry made a great defensive play on Parker's last drive. He stayed in front of Parker. When Parker leaned in, he leaned back (and fell) and didnt foul. Parker was off balance a little bit and shooted it short and hit the front rim. Nice defense!

I agree with you! Defenitely Landry was missed, especially with all the offensive rebounds that San Antonio had.

Agreed. Wafer was ok on the offensive side, but full of mistakes on defense. I thought he was lucky Uduoka got just 3 offensive boards because he completely neglected to box out throughout the second half. When Uduoka got that offensive rebound that led to an open 3, Adelman went absolutely livid.

Wafer also kept getting mixed up with Barry on defensive rotations. He just didn't look comfortable out there.

Really hope he learns from this game.

I watched the replay, and payed specific attention to Udoka scoring. The time where Udoka scored the 3 in the corner, I noticed that KT had a hold of wafers arm, not much you can do about that

Imagine how good we could be if Yao added a lil high post passing to his game? Did you see how that opens the lane for cutters and draws the defense to the middle of the floor? That is something Adelman has wanted him to do for almost two years now. I'm not saying play there all the time (like Brad Miller or C Webb), but an occassional pop up there within the flow of the offense to relieve pressure and open the lane for cutters would be great for this team. Especially going into the playoffs. I hope he gets a lil more comfortable with it cause it sure wuold help us A LOT.

Rudy T. used to do the same with Dream back in the day. When teams focused all their attention to Dream and the 3 pointers weren't going down, he would let Hakeem stay around the free throw line area and let him isolate from there facing the basket, or to relieve some pressure, he would allow Thorpe or Drexler to post up, in the right situations.

I think Scola and Artest could easily be those options with certain mismatches. Scola has more than proven he can score on power forwards around his size. Artest vs. a guard not named Lebron, always has a strength advantage down low.

Yao doesn't have to necessarily be a passer from the high post, because I think teams will be able to pick up where he is passing to (he telographs his passes at times). He can be at the free throw line area to knock down that jumper and it will bring the center away from the hoop, to take away that shot blocker.

Dream was never really asked to feed cutters from the top of the key, because that wasn't his strength. His strength (passing wise) was out of the post, which he was very effective at. I think Yao should be asked to make the simple pass if its there, like yesterday's game, or otherwise just shoot the ball or reset and run the pick and roll with AB or Lowery.
