t_mac1, you've been on some serious crack lately. Yao has been wrestling every second he's on the court, at both end. Not sure you watched the game, how many time do you see him pushing bumping turning and rolling and raising hands? Those were brief moments, what can you do? Oden is strong. But if you are going to wait for 5 seconds, no he can't hold Oden off that long. He doesn't want the ball? You are TMac fan for sure, I am too. But you used to be more level-headed. Yao doesn't want the ball this game?

I remember the multiple picks that JVG had to set to get Yao the ball. I am almost certain that are not in Coach Adelman's playbook. It's too late to practice any new strategy to give Yao the ball, because for it to work in a playoff game it has to be practiced imho hundreds of times. What a great job Coach Adelman has done!

On Yao's side, he has a career to save, seriously. When you are so easily stopped by the simple fronting, you do not belong to the elite. We heard before this serial that Portland's bigs are too slow to play fronting, now what happened? It hurts feelings but isn't it true that almost anyone can play good fronting defense on Yao. Guys like Tim Duncan, Shaq are probably too proud to even try, but if they do won't Yao be completely out of the game?

I am happy that Yao played hard on the defensive end which helped rockets to win this game, but for this team to go any further beyond the first round Yao has to pickup his game. At the very first step, why not give someone a couple elbows and commit a couple hard fouls, just to get yourself pumped up!

To beat fronting defense against Yao by other teams.

Houston rockets need to teach Yao to catch the ball on the move and his teamates to feed him the ball while he was on the move. At least couple of possesions per game. That' ll break down the fronting defense. By standing there still, though 8 foot tall but can't really jump and not agile enough, there is not much you can do to defeat fronting defense, or double team. The best example I can think of is the Paul Casol, who is not very atheletic, but really good catching the ball on the move, which create a lot of easy oppertunities.

Great game as usual! I want to see more foul outs!

I watched the MY20 broadcast, how was the ESPN one? Were they Portland kissers besides JVG or did they take notice of the little things the Rockets do?

exactly. even JVG pointed this out and that's why their defense on us was better. they just put one guy on yao and if the help came, it was very weak.

we gotta do something or we could be in trouble.

Obviously. We played a terrible game tonight.

We're at our best when we play inside out offense with Yao.

We can play better tonight(Yao and Ron most definitely)

But Portland can too.(Roy and Aldridge)

Tonight was basically the battle of the role players.

Whoever Role players came to play tonight was going to win and ours outplayed theirs.

My sister who know nothing about basketball just called me and said " Yao is 7'6 and huge so why does he do nothing when the other team gets in front of him ? " i told her that was called fronting and he just has no clue what the Hell to do when he is fronted  Any team watching knows how to beat Houston just front Yao and hope the Rockets aren't hitting their shots. I do have to give props to the Roxs defense though and Yao played extremely well in that category.......

Good lord... can the Rocks ever make anything easy? I just added several gray hairs. It shouldn't have been this close. (wipes sweat from forehead!)

Ugly but a win's a win. Battier really stepped up. Also, for all those who think Von Wafer can do no wrong, I think we saw tonight why his minutes are limited. He made some major mistakes that helped let the Blazers get back in the game. His offense is great but he needs to work on his defense and decision making.

There are somethings the Rockets/Yao cannot control. If the Blazers want to double Yao with their C and PFs, it's Scola and Landry's job to punish them. They did not do a good job in game 2, they did a good enough job tonight to win the game. You can not really judge Yao's performance without looking at our whole front court players.

Thats what I said !!!!!!!!! I'm just a little worried about Sunday because this Portland team is hungry and they only need one win in Houston to get HCA back......
