Great win, but any body watching this game has to be worried.

First, Yao was till taken out of the game, but Roy got his shots, just did not make it. No telling if he was on the floor if we would have won this game. Yao picked up 2 stupid fouls that almost cost us, but we were making shots to keep us in the game through that stretch.

2 games is a row now Yao has not been able to get more than 6 shots (I am not counting the tip in). No excuses tonight, Yao has to strong 7 footers fronting him all night but Roy saw 2 premier defenders all night as well, the difference: Roy still got the ball and his shot but did not hit, Yao CANNOT get the ball. YAO and Coach Adelman has to FIGURE this out in 24 Hrs or our season will be over, cause this blazer have some confidence in them after this game. We are playing 4 on 5 offensively and Roy might have such a bad game again. Your best player cannot get only 6 shots, and get taken out of the game so easily.

If we make it to the second round with this fronting issue not resolved, we definitely get swept by a more physical and premier team like the lakers.

Artest played very under control, didn't shoot until he really had to. Concentrated on D and the little things. That was a big key. He played smart and didn't force his usual array of three-pointers and fade aways.

Yao still a presence out there as the ultimate decoy.

Shane came up big and set the tone from the start.

Wafer shows signs, but also didn't know when to stop jacking.

    Brooks and Lowry played well.

Scolandry very solid Luis was the offense in the first half.

Good to see Deke, even Tracy.

how do u think its all Yao's fault??

because he had no chance to fight for a good position during the game? hell no, actually he got the posttion at least 5 times, but what did he recieve? I am not blaming the other players, but A real PG will solve the problem, even Rafer will make it a lot better.

Wafer stood out with his bad shots. Adelman has been making the mistake of taking Lowry out too early and tonight we nearly paid for it.

At least with Portland, we face a team that is even more inconsistent that the Rockets!

I forgot to even mention Wafer.

When he is playing good the man is one of the most exciting Rockets on this team and gives us great energy.

But he has his stretches where he is just out of control and reckless. He needs to keep his head up when going into the paint. Just relax and let the game come to him.

You have to take the good and the bad with Wafer right now, this is his first time playing a major role on a team and not only that but that team is fighting in the playoffs. This is just a good learning experience for him.

You just played yourself out. It's embarrassing to see you playing yourself out. Besides your racist babble, though, any one who knows anything about basketball knows that you can't simply look at one particular player's stats to measure the impact of a player on the game. When you watch the next game, pay attention to where the ball is going to be, not where it is. You'll notice that whenever Yao is in the game, Landry and Scola have wide open jump shots. Having a dominant presence down low distorts the defense. It's the threat of the dominant player, not necessarily whether he scores, that is the most important for team basketball. It's the same concept as in chess. Your queen can have a powerful impact on the game without ever directly taking out any opposing pieces just by having the threat present.

All of his FT's at the end and the clutch rebound.

He also got that baskt late in the 3rd when they were on a 7-0 run.

Not to mention him avoiding the whole Blazers team and forcing a foul out on their best player.

    Need I say more?

I see clutchfans has found their new scapegoat!

Scoring wise he has been the most consistent. Problem i have is playing the PG position he needs to get others involved but that seems to be a weakness.

Relieved that we won! I hope Yao figures a way to get the ball more in game 2. I wonder if Barry would help at all with that?

I am very worried about the 3s made by the Blazers. Adelman should come up with something as these guys nailed 10-23 (about 43.5%). I noticed Fernandez and Blake were the ones that are hitting them the most. Our PG must try to reduce their successful 3s.

    like that idea. :D

each game before the tip, yao shoots 10ft's in a row. assume he hits 8, every rockets game starts with a 8-0 rockets lead. cool.

Who would was he suppose to find?

Ron artest to dribble around? Battier the Defensive guru? (very clutch, kudos to him) a fronted Yao? If I recall he got the ball to Scola and Landry numerous times around the FT circle.
Why not take the shot when the other gaurd cna't catch up to you.

As a player you look for the highest percentage shot, if it's either the 1, the 2, the 3 etc. Sometimes the highest percentage shot is you driving or making a play, which Brooks was doing pretty succefully.

We won, so you're probably focusing on the wrong things, we cant win if we didnt have advantages somewhere
