The Cavs had fresh legs and would have played anyone tough tonight. They shot the ball from the perimeter extremely well. And nice job making a weak excuse for a far superior Lakers team LOSING and ignoring the more concrete excuses for the Rockets managing to WIN a tough game on the road against a team with seven days rest and the Rockets having 20 hours of rest. And how the hell did the Rockets "overlook" them? They played their asses off and completely out-hustled them.
One of the reasons Morey is having difficulties making deals is guys like Budinger, Hill, and Brooks have not been playing well this season. I don't think saying Budinger just raised his trade value is necessarily "asinine" given the situation we are in now.
Sorry, not going to sit here and pretend that a super close win against a HISTORICALLY bad team is a nice win. I don't care if it was a back to back, letting them destroy our defense is pathetic. Oh and it seems teams tend to shoot "extremely well" against us on a regular basis. Tough game? Cavs have won 7 games at home this season...lol I get that some fans like to pat the team on back and tell them good job but we play ANYONE else...I mean ANYONE else and we probably lose. Wasn't making excuses for the Lakers, they stunk but reality is reality. You can't seriously tell me that the Lakers would lose again if they played again the next 10 nights in row. I didn't mean to say the Rockets overlooked them, although that would make it a bit more excusable but sadly your right they didn't.
How about I cheer on the Rockets and hope improvement happens but not settle for mediocre to below average ball?
A win is a win... Especially on the eve of the trade deadline when you know their minds are all whack. Cleveland played with a lot of energy but again Chuck is the unsung hero. Can we start an MVP chant next home game for my man Chuck....???... Now who knows what team we will have when we wake up tomorrow morning.
I agree. This and the Detroit game were both solid wins in my book. The interior defense will always be a weakness for this team, but in both games they stepped up and played tenacious D when it was required. Plus, the ball movement has been good, which has led to a balanced offensive attack. They haven't just been relying on jump shots going in, which is a very good sign.
Check my first tweet on this game...praised Bud, Chuck and rebounding but facts are facts and I won't just ignore them. I understand if you want to blindly root for them, ignoring obvious problems, but calling out fans because they don't settle for this is something I just don't get.
Great performance by Air Bud, with Martin "quietly" picking up 30 himself. Was Bud's terrific game more because we were playing the Cavs?
wow, so i'm an idiot and forgot to tape the game, AGAIN. two games in a row i've missed and nba league pass wont let me watch the archives. i just got home from work and realized this, so i checked the boxscore and i was amazed that chuck hayes had THIRTEEN offensive rebounds. wow, also how did we bearly win this game? please tell me we blew them out and then they ralleyed against the bench...
That figures into it, I think. Bud had success last night when he received the ball near the perimeter, curled around his defender and drove towards the basket. He's used that move many times against other teams, but he'd often get pushed out away from the basket or be met in the paint by a help defender. Against the Cavs' subpar interior D, he was able to weave his way in for multiple baskets. But that's not to downplay the fact that Chase shot very well and stayed agressive throughout the game. His confidence seems to have returned.
Chuck will this game and chase played great. Martin had 1 basket in the 4th and the rest were because cleveland had to foul. Session and Harris owned the pg spot tonight.
i would understand if our team sucked 5+ seasons consecutively but the fact of the matter is that truely this is probably a bad season for us nothing ever went our way this season.
Has anybody suggested throwing a parade for the team following this win? Jesus, stop b****ing so much.
