I wish Yao could hit that last shot. It would make the win so much sweeter. You think he goes to the fadaway because he's tired or because they take away the hook shot, which is become his signature shot by the way.
Great win! Boy, what a great effort by Yao and the rests especially Wafer. What would we do without him! This is a highly entertaining game with end result that could go either way. The Rockets actually dodged a bullet.
George karl thinks Yao fouls a lot fellas. He thinks they won the game, dude is a delusional sore loser. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=290119010 The Nuggets were too steamed about Salvatore's call on Kleiza to blame Martin for the loss. "L.K. made a great play," Karl said. "It was a great play that won the game. We're just going to go home without a win." J.R. Smith scored 24, Nene had 23 and Martin 22 for the Nuggets, who lost for just the third time in 12 games. "We had great effort," Karl said. "My big guys battled Yao and got beat up a lot. He's a tough cat, gets away with a lot of holding, grabbing and dislodging. There are losses that are good losses. Tonight was a good loss. We did a lot of things well."
He gets too indecisive towards the ends of games. Tonight, he had it rolling in the 4th quarter (with minimal thinking, and just pure reaction to the defense)... then he gets stripped on the weak-side, and goes into hesitation mode for the final 2 possesions. He has to take a game, seize it, and refuse to let it go. Until he learns how to do that consistently, he'll always be thought of with less respect than his other peers.
Didn't get to see the game, but I like that Yao got his 31 points in about 30 minutes. His five fouls probably had something to do with that as well, but it's good that Adelman's been keeping his minutes down. In a radio interview awhile back, Morey said he prefers to have that spot open just in case they want to sign a player later in the season. But he also said if the roster is working well, he's fine with just 14.
I agree on what you said. The point, the refs are so inconsistent on both sides against Yao. Yao always gets the short end of the stick. If you allow murder against Yao on one side, you should at least let the ticky-tack fouls go with Yao. Do NOT put D Howord here. He is just a NBA ****ing baby. He gets every calls you can imagine from the refs!!! Just bunch of racists there.
Great win, however, our defense is severly lacking. We are no where near the standards of defense set last yr. Come on RA get the D together.
haha, are you a clown? i'm one of the few yao defenders on the board and i stated exactly what i meant. he carried us to a win despite only getting a few boards.
Yao was monster today! Esp. when he got that Tech! Lets go Rockets!!!! Check out my Rockets Blog and leave a comment or Question thanks! www.clutchcentral.blogspot.com
Yao's performance was impressive, but not as impressive as the Lakers game. He made some really tough shots against the Lakers Big. I am referring to the 3rd quarter before the refs took him out.
