So where would we be if AB had not gotten injured? Adelman started the season with AB and Martin both starting, had the whole training camp and preseason to watch that tandem together. Just wondering if AB would still be starting if he had not gotten injured.
I think tonight was a clear illustration of what teams see in both JHill and PP. JHill will show glimpse of both good and bad, one spurt he will show you a little Chris Bosh then turn around and show a little Mikki Moore. PP, on the other hand, showed he is SOLID, not spectacular or dominate but he will do all the dirty work, play defense and just produce...18-10 down the road. Question is, does Denver want the potential ceiling of Hill or the almost sure production of PP?
If CBud didn't make his shots, Martin would have more minutes. But Cbud was shwoing up big time offensively and he provides rebouding which Martin doesn't have. I agree Martin could be the reason Lowry is starting. RA knows it will be a disaster to have Martin/Cbud/AB on the court together. He is trying to pair Martin/Lowry or Lee/AB, in general that's good for the team balance and the result is showing. One thing about AB is his defense has improved after coming back, but his shots are no longer falling. I don't know it's just a rhythm thing or playing both ends affects shooting.
I dunno what Denver GM or their scouts have against our young talent. I always ask Feigan in Q/A chats post game about Melo and he tells me that Denver doesn't really value anyone of our players. Hopefully with more playing time for Patterson and Hill, Ujiri will come around. I think Hayes injury was a blessing in disguise.
Bima, some of that may be true, but I dont think it has anything to do with being scared. Remember when yao went down under jvg? Even though chuck was the starter, he replaced hayes with howard and started deke. Different coaches have a comfort, but also remember brooks has played what 4 or 5 games now? We have a stretch coming up against some pretty good defensive teams and we may see more brooks-martin backcourt. personally, it really doesnt matter and with chase getting his stroke back, adelman will figure it out.
1 player logged 26 min 3 players logged 25 min 3 players logged 24 min 2 players logged 23 min 1 player logged 22 min.. and that was kevin martin. gotta love it.
I think because none of our young guys have superstar potential, Hill is the closest but also has big time bust potential. Favors, while could end up being nothing more then a rotation guy, also has superstar potential written all over him.
I suspect if we'll have the same record now with AB/Martin back-court. Lowry got the chance to show RA our offense won't suffer with him starting as a PG, and our defense will improve. Now it's AB's turn to prove something.
It's especially funny, because Patterson put Amir Johnson in the backseat on that slam dunk. Amir was going for the rebound inside the circle. Patterson explodes from outside the circle, up higher, and higher and finally over Amir and flushed it. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bhauhvFMr7U?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bhauhvFMr7U?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
The real question is who plays when Chuck comes back, Patterson or Hill? We saw how the first unit struggled tonight without Chuck. I realize now how we run some of the offense through Chuck, just like we do with Miller. Miller carries more of the load with the second unit, compared to what Chuck is asked to do with the first unit, but it was obvious that the offense doesn't run as smooth with Hill in the middle. So when Chuck comes back, does Patterson go back to the bench and play behind Scola and Hill, or does Patterson beat out Hill and plays alongside Miller on the second unit. The next few weeks will be Patterson's chance to beat out Hill. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. I believe that Patterson will eventually be our backup to Scola.
I cannot wait until the trade deadline, so we can quit with this Denver/Melo obsession... Seriously people get over it, its not happening
GREAT win by the Rox tonight, was great to see PP do well, I was hoping he would get that last rebound for that double double. Bench played great too, however as much as I love PP I can't see how people are saying he is consistent, I mean he's played 1 game?
Tell Morey to stop going after a superstar and we'll stop talking about getting the only available guy on the market. Do I think we will get him, no, but until the deadline he is Morey's target.
