Defensively he sucks, and watching him drive to the hoop makes me cringe, but i like what Brad Miller gives in the way of the high post offense and the veterans experience he gives our 2 young bigs.

Him and Hill, and now with PPat, Miller has formed a formiddable 2nd unit partnership with a young big. His experience is valuable to this team.

Nice subliminal shot at the squad.

    Stupid post.

Why not ask the Raptors if they think Bud played for them tonight. They could have used the 22 points he scored FOR the Rockets tonight.

    What?
I was annoyed that Brooks had the ball in his hand every single time.
Why was he trying to impersonate Michael Jordon when he had the ball?

We did good for the month of December.
January schedule is brutal...Gonna be a tough game vs Portland starting off the year, they've just beat Jazz twice this week and is very confident. They are going through a similar situation we did (we lost Yao and that brought chemistry and stability to the rotation, they lost B.Roy indefinitely and are now playing with a stable rotation and doing good).
Hope Rockets continue the good work into 2011 ;)

So, does anybody still want Jeffries to play or keep playing Patterson?

Will be a tough game in Portland, Hayes would have really helped with Lamarcus.

Lowry should Negate Miller...they play really similar games.

Got to keep PP in the rotation, however JJ should be ready when PP struggles against certain matchups.

Poor defense, poor rebounding and bad TOs over-weighted his scoring tonight. Plus CBud was scoring more efficiently than him.

Who do you think he would be more impressed with, PP or JHill?

Thats what I always tell posters when they bring out the +/- stat. The other night, i thought brooks played well, but the stat boys brought up the +/-. Tonight, i didnt think he played well and he was a +11.

I think Patterson. Dude had a double double in his 1st game in his rookie season.

I think dude could be a consistent 15-20 ppg scorer/10 rebound dude.

Hill is too inconsistent, but he provides alot at the defensive end.

    Dunno, it would be hard.

Speaking of +/-, one or two games doesn't mean anything. But over a season, it means something. That has been said many times over the years. And it's better used to measure players on the same team who play the same position.

Martin was the only starter who showed up in the first quarter, but you're right about his D being a concern for Rick.

It's pretty funny, except for when the Rockets desperately need scoring or another team goes small, Rick is SCARED TO DEATH to have Martin and Brooks in the game at the same time. Just look at his substitution patterns. As soon as Brooks gets off the bench to check in, Courtney Lee is right behind him. I think this will be the #1 reason why Lowry keeps the starting job (besides Lowry's good play).

The same issue may hold true with not wanting Martin and Bud in the game for too long together due to the porous perimeter defense. But I will give credit to Courtney Lee for playing a pretty solid game.

A win is a win, so I'm happy for that. Very excited about Patterson...have always liked him since he played at Kentucky. However, as a team we have to work on clamping down on defense and fouling less in the 4th qtr.

Good point about why +/- doesn't tell the whole story (but it still tells PART of the story). I thought Brooks played well against Miami overall, although he did let Chalmers get under his skin. He was not good tonight. But I'm very encouraged by his play over the past week or so.
