Seriously, the stadium was full of empty seats 3 mins before the game was over. It was their season kickoff match.

Difference between Brooks and T-Mac: 34 points. Difference from Scola: 35 points. What exactly is your point? Brooks played well. Mavs defense was terrible. Once teams figure out his speed, they will adjust, forcing him to shoot and preventing the penetration.

Good freaking God can you stop crapping on threads with your Rafer hate? Unbelievably annoying. For a guy who apparently is so useless, it's pretty odd that we couldn't win a playoff game without Alston.

Alston is going to be the starter until a trade is made (IF). Brooks' role as the energy booster off the bench is PERFECT. Don't change what's working.

It's been well documented that Alston can't shoot well. Guess what? He's taken a total of 13 shots in the first two games. Lets not act like he's killing us. He brings us his own skills which you won't see in the box score (just like Chuck). Stop with Haterade. Brooks was awesome today but there's no need to complete overreact and demand for him to start. It's like Rosenfels vs Schaub all over again

I can see that equation also resulting in several playoff series wins.

I think we need to realize its not realitic to limit Yao's minutes EVERY single game. Not when he's always going to be our #1 or #2 option. He's our most efficient player and it only makes sense to get him out there to give us the best chance to win. That being said, remember there's always 3 situations Yao will be in.

    1. going up against teams that always give him trouble.
    2. going up against teams where he always gets his average stats.
    3. going up against teams where he pretty much always dominates

This game was #3. He's always puts up huge numbers against Dallas. So expect him to play big minutes in this situation because he's always going to be huge and very efficient. Now under situations like #1, that's when they need to rest him instead of having him out there running around and jumping around awkwardly against smaller or quicker guys and not really contributing anymore than A landry or scola would in his place.

Brooks is fast becoming better then rafer. if he isnt ready yet. but i still believe arron needs another year to clean out some of those mental mistakes to become a starter. by this time next year brooks will be our starting PG.

All the TMac haters need to slow down....we have a big three now, not 1-Man Orland TMac or Yao-TMac Rockets....we have three dogs that the other teams have to worry about. We didn't need TMac cause the group that was out there were awesome.

Is this going to be the case every game.....I doubt it. Remember the Celtics are the same...Ray Allen may score 6 points one game and then score 26 the next.

Our team is so deep that we don't need our force feed our stars if their not on their game.

    Amazing game!

Artest was an absolute beast. Yao was destroying in the post all night. Great play by AB and the bench. Tmac is clearly not himself, but didn't force things, and better yet, shot great from the line.

The defense in the 4th quarter was phenomenal: as Will said, "the suffocation rotation."

Not even at full strength (not even close). If healthy, its going to be a fun season.

Before tipoff, Mavs swingman Jerry Stackhouse addressed the crowd, saying, “It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be fast. Put on your seat belts. Let’s do it!” Then Dallas opened the Carlisle era with a 24-second violation.

Jerry was right... on Brooks.

    1. going up against teams that always give him trouble.

Golden State, Memphis, Denver (here and there), Utah, and Detroit.

    2. going up against teams where he always gets his average stats.

San Antonio, Phoenix, Chicago, Portland, Cleveland, and Minnesota

    3. going up against teams where he pretty much always dominates.

Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Los Angeles (the Laker version), Orlando, and Washington.

Brooks is almost there, but i agree he needs to cut back on some mistakes before becoming the starter or getting big minutes consistently off the bench. I have faith in him finishing or shooting, but he still has trouble passing off if he's cut off on the drive. I think when he drives he's determined to score, which is good, but his size gets him in awkward situations in the air sometimes and then he has no choice but to pass out and isn't really aware of where everybody else is.

One of the few sensible posts in the first five pages of this thread.

If Adelman had decided to rest Yao because he played too many minutes but then we lost the game, I guess you guys would be calling for his head now.

I learned that I couldn't get the best of both worlds when I was 10 years old.

I'm with you. Chuck was awesome on D tonite.
QUOTE=thacabbage]Chuck Hayes is so underrated it's not even funny. He's easily one of the 10 best all-around defenders in the league. Seriously.[/QUOTE]
