Other than that one early-shot-clock three late-- and I forgive him-- Courtney Lee played great. Kyle had a starting PG kind of game, did a great job all around. Bud showed signs of life. Now let's start streaking in a + way!
Great win. Hopefully the Rockets are exorcising some demons. That Golden State loss at the beginning of the season (more so than losing to the NBA champs in the first game) messed with the team a little bit. It was really good to dish out some punishment and give the teams that beat us a taste of the medicine we had to take early on. We have to win every night, but we should have a special "To do List" for those nine other teams that handed us losses.
Good to get a win. However, I never thought I'd wish I were a Golden State fan, but I am finding that I am kind of envious of their young core of Curry, Ellis and Lee. And who knows, Udoh could develop to be a special player too. I also like the job they've done building that team to run and gun with Curry and Ellis with bigs like Lee, Biedrins and Radmonovic. They're definitely a fun team to watch.
True but GS has only scored higher than 103 in six out of the last 15 games and one of those was against the Rockets. I am just saying that though the defensive performance was an improvement, they still have a ways to go. It would be nice to see them hold a team to under 100.
Maybe.... but it's NBA and injuries are part of the game. We have Books and Yao injured, but we still have to win games. Other players have to step up and perform.
yeah, especially since martin has a tendency to disappear at end of games. i think rick is tired of losing and experimenting. he is going to keep a shorter rotation (depending on matchups) and just play whoever gives them the best chance to win.
Everyone is so use to seeing the team hurt that they don't even mention it, but not when other teams have someone injured. I want to see what this team can do with everyone at full strength for 50 games. I hope it can happen when Brooks and Yao return.
I'll give them some slack for pace. Shutting down Ellis late, and improved help defense was nice to see at the end of the 4th. Its just that the Rox have only held opponents to under 100 pts four times this season and three of those were wins. Though tonight was an improvement in defense (and was a win) there were several missed opportunities (especially in the third quarter) when help came late, or perimeter closeouts were overplayed imo.
I know the Rockets were intent on defending Ellis, but he did not look like the same player from a month ago. It's a different energy when the Rockets starters aren't coming off playing 40 minutes the night before. In small ball matchups, Adelman seems to like to go with Battier at PF next to Budinger at SF, which seems to work pretty well.
Good win, no complaints. Where are the doomsayers tonight? It is amazing that after a win the "fire/trade everyone" crowd is pretty quiet.
