It's getting old man, seriously. Be it shane, brooks, scola, whoever, the hating gets old. We get it, you don't like him. Personally i saw good defense on the blazers' part that posession, Shane messed up by throwing too early, but Roy made a good play to keep an eye on the ball and his man even though he was running all over the place. They denied the ball well on the next inbounds. as well.
We won because I wore my new Scola jersey, and I was the only one in my section near the court screaming like a mad fan. I swear our lower level fans just suck ass! I've also never seen so many lower level empty seats for an opening night game. Pathetic.
Hell yea, during the intros my friend was like "why are there so many empty lower bowl seats," told her it was because Houston fans are always late but mid 3 I noticed THERE STILL EMPTY! Corporate Houston Sucks and its making Toyota Center look horrible.
I love this team. You absolutely cannot count them out, and that itself makes the games fun to watch. Go Rockets! Take each game one by one, and keep rolling from there.
Sorry for not looking through the thread enough, any youtube highlights of the game tonight for people who couldn't see the game?
Great game and a great team effort. So far this season, two things stick out at this point (yes, all 3 games lol) 1. Ariza was a steal 2. AB is playing at an all-star level so far. I am cautiously optimistic about our future. And by the way, someone please msg the NBA schedule makers and thank them for giving us the s***iest schedule on earth. Portland twice, jazz, lakers........and this is all in the first five games. wtf?
Hey, I call them like I see them, and that was an absolutely inexcusable mistake. I don't care how well the opposing team defends the play. If you're inbounding the ball with the lead and you have a timeout left, there's no excuse for throwing the ball away. None. Zero. But whatever, we survived, so I guess we can move on.

You pretty much scare off all parents from coming to start with or anyone who's got trick or treat duty, fans who like to give out candy, etc. They can't do it after the game ends, like during New Year's.

I got plenty more anti battier talk . I think chuck and battier did well defensively, but the team was good defensively before shane and chuck, but minus yao and deke is another story. I agree the lack of size is also huge.
How much time was left, 4 minutes? With like a 4 or 5 point lead? As much as I hated that he almost turned it over it wasn't that inexcusable. Roy didn't get an easy or even a clean steal. At that point you need to avoid a 5 second count and also avoid using a time out because there's still significant time on the clock and a small lead. If he releases the pass half a second later Roy doesn't even see it.
From tonights recap: Ariza started 20 games for the Lakers last season. He expects to see more playing time with the Rockets. He already likes the fast pace. “If that’s what it takes for us to win then that is how we need to play,” Ariza said. “No matter how tired we are, no matter what the situation is or what the odds are. If we want to win, we have to play that way every night.”
the lower seats were so empty tonight. everytime the chants would start, the noise level wasnt even that loud. im hoping it was because of halloween though. nonetheless, hats off to ariza and brooks for playing their butts off tonight. why wasnt battier holding roy though?
I believe it was in like the last 30 seconds, unless I'm completely misremembering how the end of the game unfolded.
How many times has Battier done good for us? And how many times has he made a mistake? For crying out loud, everyone makes mistakes, and Battier is the kind of person that doesn't make too many. I wouldn't trust anyone else with an inbound late in a game more than Battier.
He hit three 3-pointers. The refs took a point off the last one because of that hitch in Chuck's shot.
