If you watch the replay of the game, you'll find out T-mac took it to the rack everytime, got hammered, and no foul was called by the friggin refs... But the refs are harsh on both ends, so... nothing to complain too much, we are the winners anyway
observations: even if mcgrady "only" played 40 minutes, he must be exhausted after this game. the offense was running through him everytime he was on the court. i wonder what everyone thinks about it? i think it's an excellent way to stimulate the offense but i'm worried about the effect this strategy is going to have on his body. i was hoping that we'd be able to avoid this by throwing the ball down to scola on the low-post, but i'm not sure that this is always a viable option. he's been turning it over from that spot in the past several games. he's talented around the basket - no doubt - but he works within the flow of the game. you can't throw it into landry in the low-post, either, because his low post moves are more limited than scola's. landry is a beast...that is all. rafer, what's up dude? i understand that you're going to have off days shooting the ball but please don't turn it over. he's definitely not attacking the basket in the same way - he's taking more difficult shots now with less separation from his defender in the paint, or at least that's what i noticed in this game. battier was absolutely crucial when the offense was sputtering. he saved us on possessions when the clock was running down and he would drive into the lane for a floater. i love it that we ran him at least one play in the low post when he was able to abuse his smaller defender with a left hook - since mcgrady and battier are going to create size mismatches occasionally playing at the 2 and 3 respectively, i love to see him taking advantage of them.
Just came back from the game and it was awesome! Nice to see Tmac's jumper and Landry back in full effect. Props to Tmac, Shane, Bjax, Mandry 4 the win!!! GO ROCKETS!
I was sitting in the 2nd row tonight right by the Rockets tunnel. This was my second Warriors games of the year. Like last time, Oracle Arena was much louder than Toyota Center. I didn't see any empty seats. The guy next to me had noticed how empty TC's lower bowl was when he watched the recent nationally televised games. The Warriors fans sitting near me were calling Landry a beast. He impressed all of them. McGrady was awesome. He silenced the crowd a number of times. As average as he has played in recent games, he is the one guy on our team that can consistently create his own shots when he is playing with energy. The Warriors radio broadcasters were raving about him after the game. I think many fans here would be surprised at the number of teams that would be interested in acquiring McGrady if we end up looking to trade him. Sometimes we get frustrated with T-Mac because we want him to be more like Kobe or LeBron. He is just a different type of player at this point in his career. The fact of the matter is that Tracy is still an INCREDIBLE player and it is painfully obvious to the fans of other teams.
AMEN to that...T-mac played a great all around game tonight and had an answer almost 99% of the time tonight...the game was tough and physical just like a playoff game..and with landry i knew we would seal the deal tonight I think we win tomorow too if we can just execute our offense a little better
Post game interviews are my favorite. I can never find them myself, but I enjoy the links... maybe they aren't ready yet?
Wow brooksball. Is that really you? I think this is the first positive post I've seen from you.. But then again I am only a rookie..
I really would've seen a difference. And this guy was probably one of the most improbable game for us to win. The fact that we actually won tells us a lot about this team. I think we can start another streak. What happened to luther's shooting? Why does he have so many off nights.
I've posted plenty of positive comments. You joined around the time of my infamous "Playoffs? No way!" thread. I've since eaten crow for that blunder.
Watching this game did remind me how badly we need another perimeter player that can finish around the basket. Of course, the Warriors are the extreme when it comes to slashing perimeter players.
For this game and last two, defense did not matter much in last quarter. I just couldn't understand why Adelman did not send Novak earlier when the team needed critical scoring. A shooter like Novak, just standing there, would attract the attention of the opponents, which in turn create chances for the teammates.
