You could tell Scola was mad at himself for the subpar game against the Magic and came out extra-motivated and focused. The dude is a serious competitor.
Maybe you didn't notice, but the reason so many of Brooks' shots were falling was because he was taking great shots. When he plays smart, his efficiency skyrockets. The Brooks you saw tonight is the Brooks we are going to see game in and game out in his prime.
And how often has he played smart? How do we know that he will be playing this good consistently throughout his career? He has not shown that so far.
mang.. i can't wait till Yao gets back onto the court!!!! This team is going to be EMAAAAZINGGG next season
Not a great game. The spurs led a comeback, and Adelman played FOUR starters for 40 minutes. Only 4 other players played tonight off the bench, three of them combined for only 15 minutes. This isn't a solid win. Terrific performance from the starters, but not something we want in future games.
Sometimes he has played smart, sometimes he has not... it is totally normal for an inexperienced young player to show his inexperience. You never know a guy is going to play at a certain level consistently, but my best educated guess is that tonight was a demonstration of ceiling, and during his peak years he will play like this almost every night (but not quite so many minutes of course, so a little lower scoring volume).
That would be very unusual and would not follow the average career arc for an NBA player. Usually guys peak somewhere in the age 26-29 range.
