What? I don't want anyone to suck on the team...this is just bizzare. Uh, yeah....trying to start a fight with me I see.....awesome....please try to stay classy Kam....... DD
Laker fans at Rockets game This REALLY irritated me last night. All around Toyota Center I saw Kobe Bryant jerseys. Two guys in my section I seriously wanted to smack because they screamed every time the Lakers scored. First of all, you live in Houston, so you're not even a real Lakers fan. Were you around when they had Elden Campbell, Sedale Threatt, and Nick Van Exel? And second, what's with the attention whoring? If this was a soccer game in most countries these morons would've gotten pummeled like they deserved. Okay rant over.
On the telecast you could hear them cheer after Kobe made shots / freethrows. You can assume an out-of-town Kobe fan is nothing more than a weak-minded bandwagoner, until proven otherwise.
Maybe they were native Los Angelesians? How do you not know if they were visiting or they moved here for work or something?
I CANNOT STAND when people are fans of teams they have no association with. When i got my 2k11 copy at midnight i was talking with some other guys picking it up and both of them were talking about playing with the Heat first. I play with ONE team on 2k and i root for that same team because im a native houstonian and the hakeem days are my childhood!! (Flag waving in background)
I never assume that anyone who cheers for the opponent at a Rockets game is a "fake" fan, because for all we know they were born and raised in LA and have a Lakers shrine in their spare bedroom. But, I think it's safe to say that a good number of those fans are indeed bandwagoners and it does get annoying. To be honest, as much as we've played the Lakers, Mavs, and Jazz in the playoffs throughout the years, I'm surprised no one has been murdered.
thats pretty lame of you to just label someone not a real fan just because they do not live in the city where the team is located. I live in Los Angeles so does that then make me not a real rockets fan? Lakers fans, well fans of any successful team can get annoying, but hey they have every right to be, their team is winning and winning big. You will get the "bandwagoners" but hey thats what happens when the team is good. One thing you can say at least about the Lakers fan, whether they are bandwagon or not, is that they do come out to the road games and usually purchase their tickets through the secondary market. If you are going to get mad get mad at the Rockets fans that sell their tickets to Lakers fans. If there are that many Lakers fans at a rockets game where it eats at you that much then there are problems with 1) the rockets fan base in houston and 2) the Rockets team itself Fix those two problems first and chances are those seats that are being sold to "bandwagoning" Lakers fans are probably sold to "bandwagoning" Rockets fans or just kept by the season ticket holder themselves to go to the game. those two are things to worry about more than seeing a Kobe Bryant jersey around.
I am a Rockets fan who lives in LA so does that make me not a real fan? Stop being ignorant.... I know you hate the Lakers, as do I, but don't piss off fans of your own team....
Me and my bro went to the rockets/lakers game on super bowl Sunday. (remember the one when Kobe was out and Brain Cook rimmed out the GW 3?) We were going up the escalator and I said "man, I'm getting tired of all these fake ass Laker fans" and then turned around to make sure the 2 laker fans behind me heard me. They had a blank ass stare on their faces. Classic. Another game where me and my dad went. (The Yao owning shaq game when he fouled him out and put up great numbers)... A Laker fan behind me and my dad said in an angry ass voice "yo could you sit down, i can't see the game"...he could see, he was mad his team was getting HANDLED.
Angelenos. The Laker bandwagon is full of casual fans who show up in every NBA city. What's similar is their lack of NBA knowledge and their annoying, self entitled ways. And their accusations of all things, that the league is out to get them, rather than to protect them and their superstar antics... they are back-to-back Champs, however, I'm not surprised at a casual fan making an easy decision to root for the team that is expected to win. kind of lazy, if you ask me, but I'm a Rockets fan living in LA so what do I know? what's worse is when fans move to LA from other NBA cities and adopt the Lakers as their automatic favorite team? I have friends from Houston, New York, Milwauke, and Detroit who have all but given up on their home team, they cry GO Lakers at every opportunity. embarrasing. Go Clippers.
Last night was the first time I've seen the Brad Miller high-post passing offense work for the Rockets. Jordan Hill has nothing but his height and length to keep him on the court at this time. Martin should make notes to fake the three and step forward for a 20-footer like he did last night. At this point, there is not a player a would not trade.
