Heh. Couldn't resist the cheap shot on Yao huh? Great game by the team, especially our Big 3 and little AB!
You know when George Bush dodged those shoes, It was like Neo from the Matrix Reptilian Illuminating Chameleon Like manuever. He also had a Happy Meal face after the first dodge.
Count me in as another one who hopes to face Denver in the 1st round. Talk about a matchup nightmare for them! - They have no answer for T-Mac. Imagine what a playoff version of T-Mac would do to them - They have no answer for Yao. He could've dropped 40 on them were it not for the turnovers. - Battier + Artest individual and help defense can't be overstated. - None of their guards are quick enough for AB.
what a beautiful performance by the rockets. and gene and jim were great. whatta night! i hope the big three stay healthy and rafer comes back healthy as well. as well as barry.
Kinda interesting to look at the boxscore and see that in a great game we played, Scolandry only combined for 10 points. I think Alston's absence has something to do with that, since Rafer has made some great passes to both of them in the paint. At least they still got us 10 boards and only 1 turnover, but 7 fouls.
Way too early. The Nuggets were tired from playing Dallas the night before. Brooks did a fantastic job tonight, but a well rested Billups will be much better and harder to guard in the playoffs.
i used to think we match up well with portland though...cuz they are a young team playing a slow pace, we are a veteran team playing a slow pace, we kill them every time. but they beat us (albeit with a lucky shot) this year, so i have to think twice on this.
When did Brooks last start? I think it was the Hornets against Chris Paul, and Brooks played awesome defense on Paul also. Brooks is trying to make a case to be a starter in this league. But honestly, I don't think I'm convinced yet. He is only 6 ft (on a good day), and in the long run other starting point guards could learn to take advantage of that. I say we still need Rafer back to be successful in the playoffs.
Maybe... but I'm not sure I'm ready to say that. The Rockets defensive strength really is in team defense, in my opinion. It's why I wouldn't credit Rafer for being some lockdown defender either. The main problem I have is with all the Rafer "myths" out there. Only Rafer can "run the offense". Rafer is too valuable on defense. Rafer's a point guard so his shooting/scoring isn't important. Seriously, what would people be saying right now if roles were reversed? Rafer misses the Clippers game and the Rockets get their asses kicked by a 5-17 team, then come home with Rafer starting, the offense totally clicks and they beat one of the hottest teams in basketball? To answer my own question, it would look a little something like this. I have a thing for the Rockets winning, basically. I've owned up to Mike James in posts before. It should be pretty obvious by now that James (and Francis for that matter) weren't close to the same players they were just a year or two earlier. I'd still take the pre-2006 James on this team over Rafer Alston, no question.
Yup,I miss him real bad. Hope he can't make his debut soon in Rockets jersey at home in good shape, that would be a huge help to our team.
particularly sweet, watching in denver, forced to hear the nugs biased announcers and hearing them own up at the end. "houston was just too much for the nugs tonight. too physical. they are a good team." Loved watching the big three with AB and Landry in there. The youth energy and athleticism matched up perfectly with the Nugs, not to mention the lock down D. AB absolutely burned them, one layup in particular where no one was within 15 feet when he got to the rim. sad we lost to the clips and the grizz, but the good news is we don't have to worry about those teams in the post season. i like our chances. i like our chances.
is k-mart known for traveling? i found that funny when the announcer said "he'll do that several times"
