Yao could have had several more attempts but he kept kicking it out for the three point shot when he was doubled, which was a correct decision on his part. In the first half, the threes were falling and it worked very well. In the second half, Yao could have been more assertive however the Jazz did a good job in denying him the entry pass.

The old adage is you take what the defense gives you, for instance near the end they doubled Yao, which resulted in a Wafer three pointer from the corner.

People get too caught up in who is taking all the shots. Many of Brooks' and Battier's shots were forced on them because the Jazz were rotating away from them to double other players. And teams will continue to do so until they start making their shots.

Rafer is good PG in the latest 2 games, but if took his shooting attempts, Id say he is much like a SG.

Its just a mental thing. If coach could continue give him playing time, I am sure AB can overcome that hurdle.

Is it too early to make a conclusion like that? Aaron virtually is still a rookie since he didn't get to play much last year.

Agreed. You play within what the defense gives you. Pass the ball. Trust your teammates. The ball movement has been so beautiful in recent games.

Yao played well in spurts tonight. Rafer and wafer were good early and scola was huge late. Brooks struggled and Glue Man was terrible once again. BTW, anyone watching La v La? Jordan is playing well and like they say, if u miss, miss big. He wouldve been a better pick than Dorsey.

yao's last foul was silly and that virtually kept him out of the game.

rafer is probably the mvp of this game. scola was huge in the 4th.

and why adelman didn't use wafer earlier when aaron and battier were throwing bricks is a myth.

That's short-sighted thinking, and one of the primary reasons JVG isn't the coach of this team. That said I've seen Wafer blow numerous assignments, but lately he's improved and he's made up for his deficiencies on the offensive end.

Defensively, I have a stroke every time Yao leaves the game, and from what I've seen it's been Scola & Landry cutting off the ball-handler and never catching up to their man which leaves Hayes inexplicably giving up easy layups.

In particular Landry has regressed on D as Morey said today. But as good as Scola's been recently his "hustle" sometimes makes his judgement a little whacky. Chuck, on the other hand, needs to clobber guys in those breakdowns and seems content to be the one not making mistakes.

TMac is a natural 3 who doesn't like the physicality & hassle of playing bigger (stronger) guys, but he's more than capaple defensively when he chooses to be.

Situationally a TMac & Wafer line-up could very well favor us, and to me it seems every bit as beneficial as an Artest/Battier line-up which has negatives unless they're both hitting shots or Yao is en fuego.

I'm not saying I know what combinations are in order when we're healthy, but I'm glad Adelman is unsure too.

Offcourse,I was adding those numbers to his shot attempts.

He got to the line 9 times, but you get two shot attempts per shooting foul. SInce it is an odd number I made the assumption that one of his feild goals waqs part of a three point play. That is where I got 8 shot attempts.

So his 8 shoot attempts plus 4 trips to the line, equals 12 touches. He had 2 touches which, become assists and and 3 that resulted in turnovers.

    8+4+2+3 = 17 touches.

Offcourse, it is not the exact number of touches.

Yeah, when he gets winded, he plays kinda dumb. You can see it coming from a mile away when he's winded. I'm still trying to find someone to talk the virtues of shane. I guess they're running out of intangibles. You can tell even if the defense didn't rotate, he wanted no part of that shot wafer hit. He's spineless.

Nice dunk by Wafer. Any other team I wouldn't want him to do that but this was the Jazz :D

Good overall performance from the team.

Unfortunately, Battier has not been himself so far. I hope he gets better, he is playing like batcrap.

4 FT is at most 2 extra touches. If they were all and-1 FT throws, then the touch would be already included in the FG, hence adding 0 touches.

Do you know Yao had one 3 second violation? 1 FT was a technical.

He has a lot more touches than just 17 though. Pass out a lot when double teamed, resulted in a lot points.

Yao shot 5-8 tonight. It was kind of a flukey game in that we hit so many 3's early, but it's impossible to fathom that he gets so few shot attempts and he/we are serious contenders.

I never liked the JVG dump it in and "shoot, shoot, shoot" mentality, but his efficency increasing is undermining the real problem and giving the NBA an out. And I think the officiating of him is slowly getting worse.
