Clyde Drexler is the biggest tool announcer. He ragged on Chuck Hayes for the entire 3rd quarter for "missing 4 straight layups," but sat there not saying a ****ing thing when they subbed in Landry who proceeded to miss 7 close shots in a row. "Landry to the rescue, good substitution by Rick Adelman..." Chuck actually only had one bad shot, which really didn't count as a shot because he lost the ball on the way up. That was bad, but the other 3 misses were because of Okafor blocking them at the rim. Landry is credited as having 3 blocks against, so the other 4 straight were just misses under contention. Clyde Drexler = TOOL. Bullard at least calls it like he sees it.
Hey something you might not understand buddy Landry is our best player it was the right sub by RA at that point in the game. Yes it was not Landrys best night but Landry was not getting the calls he normally gets alot of those okafor blocks could of been called fouls if Landry got a couple more calls he would of been over 20 again the sign of a great player is too still contribute when your having an off night 18 and 6 on a bad night sounds pretty good to me.
i was at the game and the things i noticed is scola is a b**** down low lol he let west dominate him and i am noticing ariza isnt gonna be our go 2 man he is more like avg 10points 5ass 5 rebound a game maybe 15 points but i am good on that. Battier needs to be productive like that all games cuz he can play and is a hell of a shooter! brooks and landry....damn! enough said!
I remember when Richard Jefferson came into the league and an announcer saying that he was going to love playing in the NBA because of all the fouls he was drawing. I see Carl the same way. He draws a lot of phantom fouls because of how quick and hard he goes to the rim. He is a 12 and 6 guy without the free throws. However, I was not discounting Carl Landry's talent when I talked about Drexler being a tool. He was laying into Chuck more than usual, "did you notice they went to Chuck Hayes the last 3 possessions and came away with nothing?" I just found it amusing when Landry came in and missed 7 straight shots within 2 feet of the rim and Drexler got real quiet. The guy is a tool announcer. He was even talking about Tracy McGrady before the game looking like an "elite player" when he WAS on the court this season and then they cut to a clip of Adelman saying the exact opposite. Funny stuff. And as far as that being the right substitution, that is all up for argument. The Hornets built a lead when Hayes went out with the combination of their defense in the paint and The Rockets lack of defense. The Rockets came back when Anderson came in the game. If you want to talk about right moves, it was bringing in a range shooting Power Forward/Center to negate Okafor's shot blocking.
It's cuz West is more athletic and quicker than Scola. Can't really do nothing about it and Adelman did switch it up with Landry Guarding West. The thing about Scola (imio) is that he's one of our most consistent player putting up double double's almost every night.
lol. I was going to add that this was a repeat post so I would not get a post like yours, but did not think anyone would notice. Sorry, I had just posted in the wrong thread the first time. I thought I was in the post-game thread. It was a game related post and therefore i posted it again. Finally, its fine that you pointed out a single incident, however your post make is sound as if I have a habit of doing this--which I don't think was cool on your part.
Chuck is a great defender but why are you getting all riled up about Drexler calling out Chuck on offense? He isn't expected to make any points. A taller center would have converted those shots he had real easy. NO got back into the game because Chuck missed those easy shots and it was pissing me off too. Trying to lay it up around Okafor and getting your crap thrown is a bad shot no matter how polite you try to make it out to be. Landry, although missing his shots still drew fouls and eventually fouled Okafor out of the game. Thereafter he dominated whoever subbed in.
