that's what you call a coach defending his player's struggles. he sucks offensively. point blank. bar none. period. he needs to return to what he used to do with the lakers and try to gain confidence from that again.
I loved the fact near the end of the game when Trevor came to get the ball from AB, AB just waived him off. Way to be a leader AB.
I thought Ariza had a great first half when guarded by Peja Stojakovic. He was very selective about his shots and made great passes to keep the team offense fluid. He had much less success when guarded by Devin Brown in the second half, particularly the third quarter, but then again, the entire Hornets team was playing stellar defense. Still he made a crucial three and a timely drive to the basket. Most of his shots came within the offensive flow. His few "bad shots" came at the end of the shot clock, which is a very good sign. BTW I don't know if Peja Stojakovic is injured but he had an awful game on both ends of the court. Rockets exploited that matchup, with Ariza doing well in the first half and Battier going off in the second. He's the biggest reason the Hornets lost tonight despite standout games by Paul, West, and Okafor.
I love the fact that you like to Copy Pasta all over the GARM http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4992295&postcount=182
Even though Ariza had a tough game shooting wise he still finds ways to contribute to the team. I like the way he took it to the rim on that last dunk shot. I hope his shot gets going.
If he bumps his shooting up to about 43-45 percent, we have a stud on our hands who does a little bit of everything, and does it for a very cheap price... I think he can do it. He has the rest of this year and an entire off-season to make it happen. Remember, he is a ridiculously hard worker off the court. Keep the faith.
after tonight's game, he's shooting 37% overall, and 31% from 3s. he CAN improve those stats if he STOPS playing the style he is playing. there is no way he will improve playing the way he is. he's not that type of player. he's simply a more athletic version of shane battier and nothing more.
good win by the rox. But we really have to find a way to fix the 3rd quarter lows. Damn we got outscored by west alone. We won the game, but against good teams, a bad 3rd quarter is deadly.
Hehe I went to the game!!! They never throws free-shirts in the upper sections. Anyway, 3rd quarter kinda scared me but I knew we'd pull it out. Ariza was big and Brooks was on FIRE.
He can shoot, the problem is he forces up to many shots and has trouble creating his own shot. He's not a bad passer, he's penetrated for us and make some good decisions and passes for us. Sometime forces the issue like I said earlier. Dribbling needs WORK.
I'm surprised no one mentioned but for the most part of the game, when Ariza was on the court, our scoring really sucked. The AB/Lowry combination really helped us in this game. I kept cringing every time Ariza had the ball. Spotty selections, really bad shots (even when he was open) and just half ass drives. I'm beginning to regret liking Ariza.
was able to go to the game tonight - chris paul is a real general out there calling out instructions a lot on offense - peja missed open shots i don't know what's wrong with that guy - david west was just great tonight but the perimeter defense was pretty decent - when battier hit a three pointer putting the rockets up by 9 in the fourth, coach adelman showed a lot of emotion celebrating for a brief moment and it was just cool to see that enjoyed the night and love watching this team

Ugly 3rd quarter, but kudos to the guys for turning on the afterburners in the fourth. 1 more win against a possible playoff team, and we pick up a division win, evening our division record at 3-3. We have a pretty stellar record against seeds 8 and lower (12-1), but obviously the record against the top 6 leave a bit to be desired (3-8). I'll be curious how we fare against those teams once the schedule eases up a bit and now that the McGrady drama is mostly over. Will we have clinched over the Timberpups by the All Star Break?
Oh man, we used to have such threads about this! Really takes me back to the Franchise era. Some things never change! It's always nice to see a team finish an opponent off in the 4th with no superstars. It's fun to watch the Rockets figure out ways to do it. Sure helps having Landry blow up, doesn't it? I caught the game at Community Bar in Midtown tonight. There was a nice crowd eating tacos and cheering the Rockets on. A lot of people like this team-- if you're watching at home by yourself, you're missing out!
Appreciate your great work Scribo. So, as good as the Nuggets have been, we are only 1 1/2 behind them? Wow.
I cant believe Rick said that about tmac after the game. What classless *******. Kick the man while he is down. If you want to trade him, you down say he isnt good anymore.
