I have a sense of feeling that Yao will peak in this year's playoffs. May this game be a perfect start for a historic playoffs journey for the Rox.

Perfectly executed game by the Rockets on offense and defense. Portland definitely played like a young team last night. They really put the cuffs on Aldridge and had no answer for Yao at all. I really thought Portland would come out and front Yao like the mavs did the other night, but they played behind him and paid the price.

All I know is Portland is going to come out and try to front Yao in game two. Count on it. To counter that, the Rockets will need to swing the ball to the other side and Yao should run to the other block for a quick entry pass. It's the only way Yao can get position when fronted.

Great game. Take game two and the Rockets can start punching their tickets to LA.

good win. Brooks took way too many shots. It's good that he made them tonight, but it won't work all the time. Yao +Scolanry should take more shots than Brooks + Artest.

Great game by Brooks. Actually he did show inconsistency in the 3rd qtr making a couple of bad decision but I was not worry at all. I know Adelman would play Lowry if Brooks get bad time. We have two solid PG which is absolutely an upgrade of last year. It's really fun to watch Rockets go all the way at the PG spot.

Blazers were scared, unconfident and had no intensity. I'll take it.

Game 2: Much more competitive, but Rockets still pull out a narrow victory. Sweep the defeated Blazers at home.

brooks and the Rockets are taking advantage of Brooks' speed at his position. he takes what the defense gives them.

same thing for Yao in his position, and Artest in his, frankly.

I thought all Rockets played reserved and within the system.

that's why we got a blowout victory.

How many times have we read that Scola is an average to mediocre defensive player? I've never thought that myself, thinking the problems he had were a combination of making the adjustment to the league and learning, as part of that adjustment, to compensate for his relative lack of athleticism re the NBA by using his high BB IQ to make the most of the talents he has. That he was becoming not only a very good team defensive player, but also a better man on man defensive player than he gets credit for.

This game illustrated that perfectly. Yes, Aldridge is young and in his first NBA playoff game, but "unathletic, lumbering Scola," at least on this night, made him his b****.

    VIVA SCOLA!!!

Scola was on a mission last night. That was the best game ive seen him play all year. He was flashing athleticism i didnt know he had.

People shouldn't be surprised. Scola was stepping up for big playoff games long before he made it to the NBA. His medal and trophy collection is outstanding, and it isn't because he rode the play of others. If anything, they got on his back and let him carry them.

Man this was such a beautiful game. I was so emotional . . . I couldn't go to sleep after. We drove up for the Dallas game . . . took a half day and drove back the same night. Needless to say that was a dissapointment. I have been a season ticket holder for 5 years and boy will I be glad when we finally get out of the first round. . .

Yao was a monster in the 1st half!!! Reminded me of Hakeem taking over a game back in the days.

Brooks was on fire and Scola doing his job = WIN!!! ;)
