So what is this...the 3rd or 4th game we have won so far with T-Mac basically getting no time in the 4th? We would be dead in past seasons in these instances....

I think he meant the team's shot blocking in general.

Assuming we are even in playoffs. Because the sky is falling, and this team needs to be broken apart and the coach needs to be fired.

That's definitely true. Chalmers, Wade and Marion are thefty mofos.

Yao was just too much for their front line and we rebounded well as a team.

If it wasn't for Chalmers and Diawara draining 3s, some pretty well contested, this would have been a blowout.

The Rockets offense looked very good tonight. I don't know if that was more us playing well or Miami just not being able to stop the inside-out game.

Wade played horribly tonight. He tried to take some really ill-advised shots, and turned the ball over by trying to do too much against Artest. I guess Wade ate too many drunk shrimps last night.

We're lucky to have not lost once in the past 3, the West is looking pretty tight. One loss and we would be down near San Antonio. :D

    I realize now.

You don't have to feel sad. I am a fan of the Rockets first foremost.

Why are you such a Yao only fan?

Those treys they downed can't be consistent. Chalmer was shooting like his 2nd coming of Reggie Miller. They shot well tonight, and we still won, which is really encouraging. All of those guards coming out of nowhere shot like that, beginner's luck, Smush Parker-risque.

There are two ways of looking at things IMO.

One is that we won and scored over 100 points with only 6 points and zero free throws from McGrady. If he and Battier come back healthy along with perhaps Deke and if the team starts gelling we might be able to get to the playoffs and past the 1st round for the first time in years.

The other way to look at it is mainly from the point of of injuries and also from our deficiencies which is the way I perceive things right now.
We can't do ANYTHING without a healthy McGrady IMO. Ron is a starter without a doubt and is a pretty tough player but his skill level even along with a healthy Battier( which is doubtful) won't be enough to compensate for the problem we likely to face throughout the season.

Scolandry,Hayes,Brooks,Rafer,Barry are valuable but a lack of length, height, speed, lateral quickness, defense, rebounding, intimidation is very difficult to compensate for.

A mismatch in the playoffs against a determined opponent which executes well can prove fatal for us provided if we make it there in the first place(which I think we will).

The team will have to overachieve on a consistent basis if we are to get anywhere. I know I'm stating the obvious, health is key but the overall mental and physical toughness or lack thereof will determine our final outcome.
Getting past the 1st round in the playoffs and giving a solid performance in the 2nd round even if we don't win in it would be enough for me.

I'm starting to get mentally prepared for our usual emotional roller-coaster ride.

Now you are saying the confusing post should not be blamed, but the confused should be?

with tmac's playing time limited, the rockets made a visible effort to dump it to yao every time down the court, with some terrific results. i think tmac is valuable when he's taking it to the hole or posting against smaller defenders, but with his knee the way it is, he's not much use to us jacking up flat jumpers.

excellent play by scolandry and artest to preserve the lead down the stretch.

Scola missed several easy buckets, maybe 8-10points, and something is wrong for his connection with Yao in the first half, rebounding... something like that.

Give Tmac some time, he is an inseparable part for Rox.

This game showed you cannot let a 6'8 guy guard a true center, we need a backup C.
