People praising Battier again, who was guarding Affalo? If teams don't double yao, he shouldn't be on the court.

LOL, at least he gets attention this way. How else can he get cheap attention? Ignore would work wonders.

Great win. I was at the game and it was definitely too close for comfort, but as long as we win it's all good.

it was obvious we were a little shellshocked from the Landry incident. thats why we were so flat throughout the game. but we got the win though.

What you and all the other shane lovers don't see or don't want to see is his man is the one dropping in yao's lap and measuring his johnson. Go watch the la game and watch kobe. Shane should have the easiest 10pts in the league. That final play, what wrong with a hard cut baseline and if his man stops at yao, curl up to ft line for a easy shot? I can't wait till the offseason and he's either on the bench or on another team. If that's Shawn Marion or Luol Deng or Ronnie Brewer, that wouldve been a dunk or short jumper.

Detroit isn't getting enough credit for their effort. Yes they were really shorthanded, but then again if anyone knows about winning while being shorthanded its Houston. It can happen, even against good teams. Detroit is currently in the 7th spot in the east, about only 3 games of being completely out of the playoffs. They have to come out swinging every night from now on. We're in a tough spot also, but at least we're pretty much a lock to make the playoffs.

You should get use to it. Landry has missed about 50 games in these two seasons, we should get use to this kind of thing. Only 1--3 weeks. Not bad, it can be worse.

The Denver and NO won as usual, but this win keep us the 3 spot in the West. It's great! :D You cant wish the lottory team like Memphis and Min to win the teams like Denver and No, -ecus they are trying all their best for a good first round pick in the summer ;) .

You just jumped on that specific play because you love pointing out whenver shane in the corner results in no points. You act like its every game, every posession, when it clearly isn't. At least i've admitted shane should be given less minutes if he cant hit a higher percentage, but you can't even see anything besides what you WANT to see, even when presented with concrete proof.

And yeah, if it was ronnie, luol, or marion Afflalo would have had 30+ and the rockets would have had a couple turnovers at that spot. Let me play by your rules then: " If that would have been shaq or wilt chamberlain instead of Yao, then they would have had 70 tonight, man cant wait until Yao's benched or traded next year.....yeah that's a fair comparison, since they're so physically similar, with the same skills, talents, abilities, height, speed...

Rv6, when kwame created that battier thread a week ago and you were defending him like it was going out of style, these type of plays were brought up. Shanes man on strong or weakside is crowding yao. Its easy for the defense to cheat of shane because he can't put the ball on the floor and he doesn't cut with purpose. When he do cuts and move or dive, the offense is better and he is better. This is not 1 play tonight, this is the last 2 yrs.

Of course once again I failed to wake up at night, and didn't watch the game of course. But I am just glad that we won. It is all about wins especially when we are only 1,5 games behind San Antonio.

Maybe we didn't play our best, because sure, without Hamilton, AI, Sheed it really should be an EASY win, but I no longer care. We've lost so many 'EASY' games and right now I am just happy that the team is pretty much winning.

Btw, I can't belive. Ron only took 4 treys. Hopefully he knows now he is not gonna help this team standing on the perimeter. He has to take the ball to the basket. He is too strong.

the rockets looked like a team that was just going through the motions, a stark contrast from the hard-nosed gritty effort we displayed the past 10 games. I'm sure Landry was on everyones minds, but we got a gutty victory in the end.

For a guy who has called for the Rockets to pick up such awesome players as Tim Thomas and Ricky Davis I find it hilarious that you continue to act like you're some kind of junior Jerry West around here. Hubie Brown, Jeff Van Gundy and Rick Adelman value Shane Battier. I'll take their judgment over a couple internet blowhards. You are a dime a dozen.
