Dude, seriously, i know you are trying to make your point, but please make an reasonable argument. So many big stars got sidelined because of injury this season (Al Jefferson, Manu Ginobili...), you are saying they didn't make enough efforts??
No, before that I said most injuries are because of bad luck or being in a bad place. Injuries don't happen just because you're tired. It doesn't matter when you land on someone's foot, it always equals a hurt ankle...nearly ALL the time. Whether you're tired or not. Al Jefferson and Manu are not hurt every year also. I said the guys who get hurt every year are the same guys who have their effort questioned. Tmac, Carter, Baron Davis, Arenas...it's not a coincidence they are always hurt.
What? That is the silliest thing I've ever read. A lot football coaches must be dumb if they actually believe that. So you're saying Gerald Wallace got a collapsed lung because he wasn't trying hard enough? Right.....
Even this is again a subpar team.. We need the win to bounch back and stop the road losing streak. Rockets must not let down 4Q. I think Rick is right that Rockets still dont have player that can come out at closing game, that show at chicago game.
I love how people jump in the thread and completely ignore how I said "Most injuries are because of bad luck more than anything." Gerald Wallace got a collapsed lung because of the circumstances. Yet Gerald Wallace isn't hurt every year now is he?
I just finished doing the numbers on Rafer Alston vs. Aaron Brooks' stats and they are not much different. The numbers are based on the last 6 six games that Brooks has started since Alston was traded and Alston's statistics for the year with the Rockets. Player___MPG__PPG__FG%__3P%__FT%__AST__T.O.__REB__STL Alston___31.1__11.5__.370__.348__.789__5.4__1.83__3.0__1.2 Brooks__31.0__13.2__.336__.372__.845__6.2__1.83__4.0__1.2 The FG% numbers are a little disturbing since we were supposed to be upgrading but the increased AST-T.O. Ratio and Rebounding is promising.
Arenas' effort isn't questioned. The dude even set up a hyperbolic tent to simulate high altitude conditions in his house to help his stamina. Does that scream lazy to you? Besides you definitely didn't say "most injuries are because of bad luck or being in a bad place." You said that injuries happen because of lack of effort. Those two statements are not related at all.
Actually...I did say it. The only reason effort was bought up because everyone kept saying that Yao was soo tired that he was going to eventually collapse and tear is ACL.
You should also only count those games that Alston played but T-lady not played, as T-Lady had the ball rather than Alston, to make a fair comparison!
these people are questioning the coach why Yao's still on the court when 1. we were up by 15; 2. 5 mins left; 3. the other team gave up and kept only 1 starter on the court. don't try to change the topic and answer the question if u want to defense the coach. And if u wanna diss Yao, go away.
I actually thought about that since it would be more of an accurate assessment with the current squad but I had already posted. If I get some time later, I will try to figure out which games tmac did not play in and then get those numbers. Also, I will try to find the other games that Brooks started while Alston was out and see what comes up. Good Call!
Well, we've been telling these people that fronting Yao is a big problem the Rockets need to solve. Gotta practice it in a real game. Please, i'm not here to defend Adelman or diss Yao. I'm a ROCKETS fan, not a TMAC fan or YAO fan. I was on here last night questioning Adelman's and his inability to not adjust to the game quicker. He let a 17 point lead slip away without seemingly doing anything, then put Lowry on Rose TOO late. I'm not too high on Adelman either...in fact all of Adelman teams have always been close but no cigar. I'm a rocket fan not a Yao or Adelman fan. Some people obviously are just Yao Ming fans here and not Rocket fans because they are complaining about two extra minutes he played despite Adelman thinking "We need to solve the fronting..."
I agree AB played good tonight, but have you notice that he shot1-7 in the 4th quarter? He is gonna kill us if he keep doing this way, yesterday he didnt make the shots in the 4th Q,we lost . He needs to learn to pass the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!How many times he missed the layups?
thats a weird picture. who the heck is that guy standing on the right side? looks like a naked maya form or something.
maybe this game report from feigen can end all the meaningless arguments in most part of this thread, hopefully. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6288651.html The Wolves did try fronting Yao as the Bulls had, prompting Adelman to leave Yao on the floor for the final 7 ½ minutes to work on the corrections needed after Saturday’s loss. Though Yao took only seven shots, he made five and scored 17 points with 11 rebounds and a season-high six blocked shots. (He had five in the previous game against the Timberwolves.) More valuable, however, than his own scoring, Yao created opportunities around him. "They got open shots because of Yao," Minnesota coach Kevin McHale said. "We were trying to circle the wagons around him and tried to keep the ball out of his hands." The Rockets made 53.3 percent of their shots, led by Artest’s 10-of-15 shooting. Carl Landry came back after missing four games with a sprained ankle to make four of five shots, scoring 12 points in 26 minutes. "I think we used me well," Yao said. "I’m not saying just passing me the ball, but my teammates used the double teams to go get open looks for the rest of the team." Yao might have made one other subtle contribution. Less than two minutes into the second half, the Timberwolves had scored on their first three possessions and led by three. After an Artest drive, Yao barked, ‘Let’s get a stop.' The defense came alive, the Timberwolves missed 13 of their next 15 shots and the Rockets opened a 17-point lead. That, however, brought reminders of the 17-point lead the night before, and sent the Rockets home having made progress, but far from satisfied. "We wanted to have two wins on the road on the road trip," Yao said. "We didn’t. We should have that." Instead, they got a split, with a loss they might be well-served to be unable to forget.
