    I think so.

If Chuck strips the ball 10 times in the game and it bounces to Scola every time. I think Scola would be credited with 10 steals.

So the "analysts" who don't actually watch the game (only boxscores) wouldn't know Chuck's real impact.

They screwed Chuck out of 2 steals, plain and simple. They credit him with 2 blocks instead. I watched the entire game, he never got a block. When a player strips it into the hands of another player, the player who stripped the ball gets the steal if I am not mistaken.

Either way, Chuck stripped it from Gasol on 1 possession AND came up with the ball, so there is no excuse to show him with ZERO assists. And weren't Bill Worrell and Clyde Drexler talking about how their stats guys NEVER make a mistake? If they are going to start counting those strips as blocks because the player might be shooting, then the Chuckwagon would have over 2 blocks per game :)

In any case, Chuck went from 2.4 to 2.1 spg, which only hurts his chances of making the all defense team.

If you check out the splits, Chuck has gotten more blocks less steals at home, compared to the road, the last couple seasons.

It looks like the home stats crew tends to give him blocks on those strips more often than steals. He needs to talk to them.

Or email Jason Friedman of rockets.com or Jonathan Feigen of The Chronicle. But, surely they are noticing the problem already? Especially with Friedman's campaign to get Chuck on the all defense team.

Yeah, I just sent Friedman an email about it. Maybe he can talk to them and see what's going on there.

Great Game, I was there which made it even better! Landry is my boy, he has been one of my favs since he became a Rocket. I love his power and aggression, he's amazing!! His injury held him back last season but he's seems good now. ;)

The first half was a little sloppy, glad they got it together in the second half. Ariza if you're having an off night stop shooting 3's!!! Glad he finally started going to the basket that's what needs to happen when your not making outside shots. Most say a shooter needs to shoot his way out of a slump I disagree....stop shooting before you cost us the game....if you've missed a several then take it to the basket...then try again later in the game.

We put a WHOOPIN on Memphis as we should have...GO ROCKETS!

Here's a response from Feigan on his blog. Just as someone else mentioned.

(Hayes would get the steal on the plays you describe. The plays you mention, however, were considered blocked shots, with Gasol already in his shooting motion. Close call on that ruling. -- Jonathan)

found it kind of odd that on the memphis forums, they were hating on lowry big time. they were accusing him of sucking on purpose so memphis could bench him and start conley, thus making him tradeable and then turning around and playing all beastly once he was traded. I actually feel bad for their fan base. They've gotten plenty of lottery picks over the years yet they're still right back where they started.

i remember lowry playing pretty well when he started, but then memhis started experimenting with their pgs since they have like 4....so i dont think it was lowry playing badly on purpose, he went from playing big minutes to playing spotty minutes, probably lost his rythm and struggle in that role like he sometimes does here when he doesn't stay on the court long enough.
