I was not impressed with LeMarcus Aldridge tonight. I know he scored 20 points, but his lack of physicality really hurt Portland on both offense and defense.
His actual post game is very limited. he's good but for someone who is that athletic, its almost a waste that he's a face up jump shooter.
Landry's solid but I worry about his interior defense, and how he struggles when he's double or goes against bigs that can defend him one on one like tyrus thomas, bird man, Okafor.. etc due to their quickness and shot-blocking. To me and all-star should be unstoppable one on one, brooks is closer to that due to his combination of great range and quickness.
Aaron disclosed his cousin passed away last night during an interview with NBAtv. he said he would take the break during All Star weekend to spend time with his aunt...
that is the margin between good and great teams. We are not as bad as some might have put it but we are not a great team either that advances to the playoffs and beyond the first rounds easily.
Chit... I knew Landry was good in the 4th, but SECOND in the NBA? Ahead of Kobe? That's incredible. Oh, good (if shaky ending) win.
That 2-3 zone has been killing our offense. Once they take away Landry in the post via zone or front, our only option becomes Aaron. He did a great job tonight of penetrating and dishing in traffic.
Yeah, I watched that. He kinda looked like he was gonna tear up and had that crackly voice. Hope the best for him!
Glad for the win, but I sure hope Kyle is OK. Just a freaky injury. How many times have we seen the little bowling ball make a drive like that without more than a bruise or two? He has seemed indestructible. With luck, he won't miss more than a game or two. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.
Good win by the Rox, I was there too which was fun. But one thing I noticed is that during the playoffs last year, Aldridge was a money 10-20 foot jump shooter, but lately he's been shooting a very poor percentage from that range. Oh well, good for us though.
