I have to rewatch some games to confirm, but it seems like teams are denying the easy pass to Landry in the post by fronting him more, especially in the fourth quarter. They're not just using double teams on him but a combination of defensive strategies.

I've also noticed for small stretches in several games recently, Adelman used a small-ball lineup of Landry as the center surrounded by perimeter players (Brooks/Lowry/Ariza/Battier). But from what I've seen, it hasn't been very effective.

Look at Scola's hair. LOOK AT IT.

So voluminous... fluttering in the wind...

Well it seemed pretty apparent that we were targeting Bogut for his 6th foul. I can see that being frustrating since he got away with hammering Landry twice.

Props and a rep for you. Luis isn't the best Rocket, but I love it when he plays well. He is my favorite Rocket apart from Yao.
    Go ROCKETS! GO SCOLA!

Landry's whole demeanor has been different during his rough stretch. He just doesn't look like he's having fun out there. He's normally much more animated on the court, it almost looks like he's sulking out there. Something's going on with him, and it all started when Adelman took him out of the game against the Bobcats.

I watched him wring his son's neck at the Clippers game. No joke.

He played like Rafer, poor shooting but good decision making. So I guess the answer to your question depends on whether or not you were a Rafer fan.

Agreed, but my point was that Brooks usually lets other parts of his game fail when his shot is off.

I thought he did a decent job of not allowing that to happen today.

He's often worse than Rafer when he's not scoring well.

Scola is one of the most under appreciated and underrated player out there. People don't realize how hard that spin move scoop shot is! And he is very clutch, thank god he is on our team. :)

I'm starting to think that Morey was joking around to deal with his frustration in both of these instances.

He certainly isn't going to maliciously choke his own kid in public (or in private for that matter).

like when drexler went one on one with penny on a fast break and clyde jumped and poked penny in the eye, made the lay-up, and got a free throw?

    hardaway was so pissed. lol.

I can live with that. He contributed despite having a bad day.

when we win nowadays, we're barely winning, even against the bad teams. but any win against any NBA team is great.

our offense was pretty awful in the 2nd half.

    That's how I saw it.

Brooks has generally been completely ineffective when he isn't scoring efficiently, i.e., worse than Rafer.

Today, that was not the case. He made relatively good decisions with the ball and played hard on defense. He still made mistakes but he was better than normal in those areas, particularly during a game where he couldn't throw it in the ocean.

If Brooks wants to ever be considered a top point guard such as Deron Williams, Tony Parker, and Chris Paul he needs to be able to do both consistently. Usually he's either a good scorer but a poor decision maker or vice versa. Until then, he'll always be considered a good but not great PG.

There you said it. Do it consistently. He isn't consistent.
