Post-Game Analysis: Rockets 100, Wizards 93 (VIDEO: AB sparks comeback)

Great game, the refs were alittle too busy for my taste but glad they got the win. That was a nice crowd for the Wiz @ Toyota, can't wait to see the sellout @ the HEAT game this wednesday!

 

Post Game analysis =

-Nice win to finally get at .500 but the Rockets are lucky that the Wizards went small in the 4th quarter and essentially beat themselves by breaking down defensively.

-When Scola is off.... boy its ugly to watch. I am glad Adelman recognized it enough to sit him in the 4th. If Scola could play half a$# defense then he would still be on the floor but him and Budinger continue to show severe lack of defensive presence.

-Great to see Aaron Brooks back and see what kind of weapon he gives us next to Kevin Martin on offense. Hopefully the ankle injury he had in the 4th quarter wont linger on and keep him from progressing.

-Hill is looking more and more solid off the bench but needs to work on his fouls. If he wants to take over as the starting center that is the main thing he needs to work on.

 

I usually don't like posts with any substance, but WHO CARES?! What do any of us know about the guy that makes us think him playing with guarantee us winning?

Rick sees him in practice and knows him much better than you do. Rick's done a good job with new/young players. Let him do his thing.

 

AB did not shoot very well, but he hit them when they counted, and he had 5 dimes to only 1 turnover.

Yea he made some great decisions in the 4th. Now he just needs to keep it up.

 

It is not what we know that he will guarantee us a win by playing, but rather that he cannot do any worse than how Bud has been performing. Bud currently offers 0 offense and defense, essentially causing the team to play 4 v 5 on the court. T-Will can at least bring a decent level of D, which is much much more than what Bud is offering this season.

 

We're starting to get that scrappiness back...i love it!

I'm not necessarily sold on him being better than Ray Allen, Ginobli, Joe Johnson -- but with the way it's shooting, it's a lot closer than I would've thought at the beginning of the year.

 

They always had a real good relationship, which in all honesty, is the only reason they can make the PG position work. Unlike CP3, neither Lowry or Brooks wants to chase the other out of town or to even leave for that matter.

 

No kidding! I was at the game and that's the loudest its been all year in the 4th. Although.. the last 2 games i went was against GS and Sac - both were pretty much over before the 4th quarter started.

Cant wait to see what the crowd's gonna be like tomorrow!

Oh, also gotta give a shout out to rocketgirl and the rest of the Red Rowdies. They really had it going last night and gave the team a lift in the fourth quarter. I especially liked how they started the "K-MART!" chant when Kevin Martin was lying on the ground injured. I honestly think that pumped him up.

But he can create shots for himself. I don't know where that idea comes from but it's bogus.

Did anyone see the shot he took over Eric Gordon in the Clipper game? Lots of contact, no call, 2 points.

And the reason he gets fouled? He's smart and quick and defenders can't stay in front of him so they usually smack him with their arm as he goes by. Or they can't get either in front of him or out of his way enough and end up bumping him for a blocking foul.

 

we struggled to beat the wizards and they have been 0-14 on the road. And TW still doesnt play. We have a great narcissistic coach.

Wait a second, where's all the "GET RID OF AB" talk? Why is everyone happy to be at .500 when everyone wanted us to tank only a week or so ago, and now people are starting to mention the playoffs, what happened to getting the Lottery?

 

Only a very few posters I've seen actually wants to get rid of Brooks for the sake of getting rid of him or promoting Lowry. I personally those people are stupid as hell and should get neutered to prevent passing on their stupid genes through reproduction. As our team is now, we need BOTH Lowry and Brooks to succeed. The only way I am willing to lose Brooks is if we are getting a star or superstar in return, because that makes the TEAM better.
