+1. Rafer for the love of God stop shooting so much! Who the hell gave you the green light to have more shot attempts than any of the big 3?

The best part about tonight's ownage of Dwight Howard from our king center of the NBA, Yao. Yao was not even 100% healthy tonight. And he still OWNED Dwight Howard tonight!

Not only did he owned Dwight Howard, he owned Dwight Howard + referees!!!!!!!

    YEEEEEEEEE HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

    Rafer 6/16

    Yao 9/15

why do I get the feeling that rafer is very comfortable with those numbers?

he's shooting 36% for the season. And yet he launches 16 shots up with no shame?

barry needs to stay on the bench.

Rafer needs to learn to concentrate doing tear drop man....he is so erratic that even when he's wide open for a drop shot...it seems like he had to rush like someone is going to poke at his a.z.z or something while hanging in the air. That's why i say Rafer does not do much to contribute to this team other than being one dimensional player such as spot up wide open shooter. Sure he's ballhandling skills is exceptional and his low turnover ratio is cool but this Rockets team is MUCH MUCH more dangerous if you have PG that not just shoot but penetrate and very good at finishing too!! That's why Brooks get the nod in late game situation because of his ability to FINISH it! That's the KEY...finished it.

Rafer for some reason because of his lack of jump ability or what...seems to rush and not able to finish it every time he attack the basket and he's WIDE open too! The reason i said this is because with this Rockets team...the lane for attacking the basket for a PG is ALWAYS there!! They're ALWAYS wide open and so if we have a potent PG that are good at attacking and finishing...it now change the whole dynamic of the offense. It makes this team way dangerous than just settling for 3s.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Yao Ming is a better overall center than Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard is a better athlete, but he seriously lacks any skills".

Yao proved that tonight. Yao, being a fundamentally sound center, who is stronger than Dwight, showed that boxing out and playing defense with good positioning is all that you need to do vs. Dwight Howard. When athleticism can't be used to a great advantage (fundamental, half court basketall), then Dwight Howard is almost useless.

Dwight gets 14 rebounds per game, because his team shoots so many 3 point shots, and he has 4 perimeter players playing along side him (Turkoglu and Lewis are horrible rebounders for being 6'10).

He is a better shot blocker, I'll give him that for sure from this year. But I still think Yao is the smarter and better one-on-one defender though. Dwight had no idea what to do with Yao. Howard was off balanced most of the game guarding Yao and had drawn 4 fouls on Dwight Howard in about 15 minutes of game time. Late in the game, Howard gave up guarding Yao straight up, and just gambled for the steal a few times.

Yao on the other hand, played Howard straight up, and just kept his arms straight up in the air to contest any shot and did an excellent job of boxing out and running with Howard down the court. He looked confident on defense, where as Howard looked quite lost. Yao was allowed to make any move he wanted to and take any shot he wanted to, and all Howard could do was hope that Yao missed.

Offensively is where Yao is light years ahead of Dwight. When the Magic needed points badly, and they went down low to Howard, he couldn't score. He tried bank shots, he tried jump hooks, that little spin move which is really predictable, and just threw anything he could to try to get a point. But nothing worked. Then, on top of that Yao is a much better passer than Dwight Howard. His basketball IQ is much better than Howard's right now.

It didn't matter who was guarding him, He had a really hard time against Yao, which isn't surprising, but even against Chuck Hayes, who's 6'5 and can't jump, and Carl Landry, who is only 6'9 but much weaker than Howard. He has no offensive moves besides a dunk or a putback layup. He doesn't have a plan B for nights like this.

HE HAS NO POST UP ABILITY! He is a stronger, bigger version of Tyson Chandler (who also struggles mightily against Yao.)

If tonights game, and the games from last season isn't proof to show that Yao is better, than I don't know what is?

Sure, you hear about Howard's 20+ rebound games vs. the Warriors, Raptors, and any other teams who don't have good, fundamental centers. But the reason is that those teams were soft inside and they shoot A BUNCH of 3's, and Orlando leads the league in that. That means there are more rebounds available and when you have 2 soft 6'10 forwards playing alongside you, then there are even more rebounds available to grab for Howard. He is an amazing athlete, but as far as a complete basketball player, he's not even close to Yao at this point in their respective careers.

I was mistaken in one of my stats. Yao drew 4 fouls on Howard in 8 minutes, not 15. That shows you how far Dwight Howard has to go to reach Yao's level of skill and talent.

utterly shameless and no regard for human life rafer shooting all those bricks.
    Rafer, HAVE MERCY ON US.

This game just proves that the lakers game was a fluke. If Yao can punish Howard, he can pulverize bynum.

The Rafer of last year would really help at this stage.

Rafer is not that bad, he could find his teammates and made huge shots. At least two of the three referees were very disgusting though. My question is that:"When Battier back, what's the start lineup of Rox?" Tmac, Alston, Atest, Battier and Yao?

The Rockets finally broke the 43% mark for shooting in this season as a team, but there are some things that are just unacceptable with shooting percentages.

As far as Mcgrady shooting 41% from the field that is expected, he has no lift on his drives, but his spot up three point shooting has been great.

Rafer and Ron shooting at 36% from the field, I have a feeling this has to do with a lot of horrible shot selection and forced shots and Brent barry being non-existent as the designated shooter off the bench.

I really hope the Rockets get their offense going, because at times its painful to watch.

Overall good game, but still how does Rafer take more shots that Yao? even thought he did have 7 asts and no turnovers.
