He got the ball right under the basket the last play when it mattered.
Instead of going up and dunking the ball with a vengence, he got hacked to death by two people and tossed the ball up.

Shaq or Dream would have dunked on both those fools.

Yao is lacking the killer instinct that will get us to The Finals.
Its a shame, because the talent is there... the will is not.

    Not a surprise

If T-mac, Yao, or Artest are out we will struggle to win or will lose especially if T-mac or Yao is out.

guys, no shame in losing this game...pacers are a good looking team. As long as rockets can go 10-6 over 16 game stretchs we can make playoffs and this season will once again be a success.

Don't be so harsh on the rockets....the pacers did give Dallas a tough game last night after all.

Adelman got outcoached that whole switching Scola and Yao in and out just wrecked their rhythm

Without TMac, there's no one who can breakdown the defense and draw defenders... except Brooks, and RA doesn't trust him to close games.

Artest blew this game with his lousy decision-making. He's just like Rafer because he won't stop shooting when he is cold. I can't stand seeing that but coach just lets it happen over and over. Yao didn't touch the ball for the last two minutes of the game until that last play which was already broken by the time Yao got it.

    Is Anyone Surprised?

Honestly, has this team ever blown a team out?

I was the one who posted the "Cooler Heads Prevail" topic after the Spurs loss, but this has gone on way too long. Also, I am against knee-jerk reaction threads, but we CONSISTENTLY make the same mistake throughout the games.

Can we play a solid 48 minutes?

There is no way in hell you can compare this team to the Lakers or Celtics simply for the reason that they blow out the ****ty teams and never let them get close.

Phil Jackson gets angry when the Lakers let the Kings cut the lead to single digits at the end of the game.

But to my point...do you ever expect this team to go a full game without having a MASSIVE SCORING DRAUGHT or a complete DEFENSIVE BREAKDOWN?

Those two phrases seem to characterize this team.

Ron Artest as our clutch player? Bad idea.

But really, who else can we go to? I know Tracy isn't playing, but he would have taken an 18 foot jumper, and guess what, same result.

People also like to mention how horrible our home crowd is. Well, who could blame them? We shoot like garbage, we don't have an exciting offense, we don't get many fast break points, we're nowhere near athletic, and we settle for contested fade-away jumpers (which seems to be patented by Ron). I sure as hell don't want to pay $200 for decent tickets to watch us play.

Where do we go from here? What are our expectations?

This season seems like another first round exit. And, as much as I hate to say it and deny it every chance I get, I could not be more disappointed in Ron Artest. He may be behaving well, but he is playing pretty poorly on the offensive end.

To conclude, we are no where near the upper-echelon of the NBA.

Exactly. I feared that we might lose. Losing is bearable if you don't collapse, but this a characteristic of our ball club. Unfortunately and more alarmingly, this is nothing new.

Adelman was outcoached in the late game.

every team should front Yao, until the Rockets figure out a way to pass over to Yao. Terrible loss. So many games this year Rockets blew lead in fourth. At least Shane is back. I guess we can mark this game as part of the growing pain for this team.

Agree. Adelman again waited way too long to call time out and make adjustments.
You can literally watch double digit leads melt away.

Yao's shot is not the only reason that we lost this game.
What was the point to put Yao on offence while do not use him? I'd been happy with Ron's play even though he shot really bad. But this game, his three missed shots in the last minute actually costed us the game.

This sucks. I know the team will get it going but then a game like this shows up. The Spurs are not getting themselves back and if they win Saturday will be one game out of the lead.

Rick needs to take control of this team... He just lets Rafer and Ron shoot to death with no consequence... useless coaching...
