you're right! reasons we lost: 1) outcoached 2) slow ball movement 3) lack of intensity 4) playing not to lose 5) artest laying it up when he couldve dunked, he got his stuff pinned by granger 6) outcoached....again...if yao gets fronted, how about a pick and roll or flashing him across the paint or even a short jumper from the freethrow line, geez
I've been preaching this all season long. We have 3 ball stoppers and so far they have done a good job of gelling well together. Boston's big three works so well because Ray Allen is one of the best moving without the ball and the offense was going through Pierce and KG. Artest can't spot up and guess whose the best in the league playing off ball?
Well, T-Mac may not shoot the ball at a high percentage but he would have made better plays whether by getting team mates good shots or by scoring himself. Offense would have been better with T-mac's playmaking.
Yep, or Aaron Brooks too.....Rafer is not a playmaker.....he passes on the perimeter but when pressured he chokes. DD
I'd give Steve a chance believe me. Im not trying to burst your bubble or argue, but I know for a fact it's over. Believe me, I wish it wasn't so. Steve knew he was a long shot, and that's why I say he's laughing by taking the option, but hell who wouldn't. Even Calvin Murphy has given up on him. I know the oppurtunity is there to make excuses, and you can choose not to believe me, but I stated when he went out last year, he would be next years Bob Sura. Again, I dont speak this out of opinion, but its what ive heard. It's over man. I'm sorry.
You CAN NOT compare our big three to boston's big three. McGrady and Artest are similar to Pierce. Ray Allen is a pure shooter which we don't have. Yao is the low post scorer like KG but KG can face up and shoot the ball. Our big 3 is way different from Boston
Steve was "suppose to be done" last year but the guy played and had a put back dunk that they waived off and a game winning shot. Doesn't look like a guy thats done 2 me. For all that Grant Hill is done or was done but he proved everyone wrong. I like it how people and commentators are saying a player is done. How bout letting the player say he is done. Steve will be back just wait
As far as the offense in the 4th quarter, Murphy fronted Yao, who just couldn't get the ball almost the entire quarter. Then Artest just forced it inside and basically missed everything every time. Coach Adelman did not adjust accordingly. He could have told someone to either penetrate the baseline, or find a better way to get Yao the ball. Fronting Yao is the best defense against rockets for every team in NBA (which for some reason has not been used by every team - surprising). Rockets' coaches are supposed to recognize the potential problem from fronting right away and come up with some effective ways to deal with it. Tonight, coaches' mistake (or incompetence) let the fronting lose the game for the rockets.
preach on brotha. it felt for a while like Landry was the only one who could score. but instead of givin him the ball, Artest just took horrible shots down the stretch
you dumbass...did you not watch the game. Landry did get beat but he recovered and blocked the shot. Someone else should have grabbed the rebound
Atmosphere here is utterly different at wining and losing . Guys, calm down. It is only one ordinary lost game, needless to be panic or to whine anybody. Let’s also treat “fire coach or trade players” scenario as no more than a joke. It’s actually a joke and couldn’t be otherwise, right? One game may have significant impact about our position, given the fierce competition situation of the last season and the same case of this season, but personally, if I have a choice at the moment of playoff opening between a healthy rockets with a position around 5 and a injured rockets listed No. 1 in the west, I will rush to the former with even lower position. Everyone has ups and downs, so do our players. You can not treat them as heroes solely when they good games, while think they are totally zeros when they lose games. Fact is Pacers is not that crappy as everybody thinks. They bring a lot trouble to Mavericks yesterday and even beat Celtics. If you are a rockets fan of years, I think you have been already mentally strong long ago about this team no matter what happens. Even if we have the seemingly “luxury lineups” now, please fully prepare ourselves: this team will never cease impressing us some way, one way or another, which may make you feel better at the case like this . This rockets, I wish, can still impress me in delightful way in next June .
My fault i read it 2 quick lol. The Artest trade was good but i honestly wished they targeted Mike Miller. Mike and T-Mac have chemistry and with Yao down low I'll rather have Miller shoot than Rafer.
Yeah Rip has that mid-range game but i don't think he is use 2 playing with a low post player like Yao. In Detroit there was Ben and Sheed. Sheed can post and shoot. He really lives off staying behind the 3 point line. With Yao and Scola clogging up the middle all it takes is a help defender and Rip is shut down. Also Rip is really not a good 3 point shooter. Well a consistent one i should say. With giving up Artest and fillers for Rip like you said i would expect for us to get more back than just Rip. I don't want to trade Artest cause im happy with what he brings to the table. Once Battier gets his wind I feel sorry for the rest of the league. Our Defense will be unstoppable. If Artest was to be traded which is unlikely it should be for a PG
Thats a good question. If he was I wonder if him and Francis was chit chatting. Thats if Francis was at the game.
