We got blown out by this same Nuggets team at home, with a healthy Brooks. We are not better than the Nuggets. We will be the 9th seed and mediocre.
Exactly that's why I never liked that trade, now were going to be hindered in free-agency if there's a legit star player available with his contract.
Budinger was defending Gary Forbes, who scored 7 points in 5 minutes. But yeah, the starters weren't doing well either.
What game are you watching we never led in the 4th quarter. Brooks get in the game with the game time leave the game loosing by 5, we end up losing by 7. Brooks -1 Lowry -6 (Brook din't cost us the game) Pls stop watching the game with the Brook hate goggle,
I know it's just a few games, but really we've lost all the last games we've played against viable competition, and I'm losing my faith in this organization's ability to move forward without drastic change. I think Morey's starting to realize that this isn't a league meant for innovation like the NFL--you don't win with new formulas. David Stern has dictated the setting in which championships will take place in the NBA, and that is by revolving solid supporting players around superstars. You don't get the superstars AFTER the supporting cast. It's just never been done and it's not about to start now. Whatever it takes, Morey better be ready to tear this team apart to its very foundation to obtain that superstar, and worry about the rest later. I love that Morey's a forward thinker. But that just doesn't hold water in this dictatorship known as the NBA. It's Stern's way or the highway. Teams don't generate revenue, players do. For as long as the NBA lives and Stern or one of his cronies is running it in the future, the spoils of victory are going to go to the stars. Games will be officiated in their favor, especially in the final quarter. The message delivered to the rest of the players that get shafted as a result is, "Hey, shut up, we're your meal ticket. Now go take your loss like the Washington Generals and be happy you can live it up, for however long you manage to stay in this cash cow of a league." I hate it but that's just the way it is. Now excuse me I'm going to go watch college basketball for a couple months, since my alma mater's still undefeated.
exactly battier's defense is solid, but people look at the box score, and forget that chase gets torched by durant/carmelo etc.
Watching Carmelo is like watching Tom Brady, the refs just love the guy.....he pushes Battier to the ground, no call.....he is unbelievably dirty and you can't touch him, no no...that is a foul. Man....if there is one guy I wish that Bruce Bowen would slip his foot under it is him. DD
Ive read enough, I just got home from work and was tempted to get on here before I watched the game(DVR). Thanks for saving me my time.
It was a good game. Here is all you need to know, the Rox hit their jumpers through the first 3 quarters, the Nugs attacked the paint all game. The Rox stopped hitting jumpers the Nugs got to the line a TON, and they pulled away at the charity stripe in the 4th. DD
We lost by 2 at Lakers and won by 10 We are better than the Lakers. BTW we din't get blow out it was 89-90 with 5 min to play in the 4th.
Here is what has been screaming at us all season; first, the Rockets couldn't beat anybody, then they could beat the lotto teams, now they are playing the playoff teams and they aren't quite good enough. Basically they are a.500 ball club that has to play out of their minds to win against the best 16 teams in the NBA. That's who they have been, that is who they are. What will change? Brooks will get better. Martin's slump won't last long. The younger players could improve, maybe significantly and they could inch into the playoffs, which will be the worst possible outcome. No good draft, no real playoff run. Either they must make a BIG trade or I recommend playing the young players and see what they can do. Tank? No, you never really officially tank, you just "set yourself up" for the good lotto pick.
