guys relax. I think Rockets purposly throw this game away seeing how spurs has lost to the lakers and dropped to 5th seed and we went to 3rd seed.

certainly i don't think we are ready for suns in first round at 3rd seed. we better off playing the jazz.

Beside lakers at number 1 seed will have more trouble at playing against nugg then the warriors.

can't you guys see it? all the teams are playing the way to get better matchups. dallas is losing to seattle just to get a chance to be the 8th seed.

Here's a post I made in the game thread:

Well, I guess the Rockets don't really care all that much about being in the top 4 or getting the #1 seed. That's why Battier and Jackson opted not to play tonight. They've accepted that they're going to face Utah in the first round and would rather focus on the Utah game tomorrow night. But that's kind of stupid because you don't need to beat Utah tomorrow to get home court and it "should" be easier to beat Denver in Denver than it is to beat Utah in Salt Lake City on the 2nd night of a back to back. And now we've got negative momentum going into that game and I don't expect we'll win that one either. If that happens, that means we just pissed away home court advantage against the team with the best home record in the conference.

It would be very depressing if we went from the prospect of being the #1 seed (if we won out) to starting the playoffs on the road in Utah.

Are you sure? The top 3 seeds would be L.A, New Orleans, and Utah. If San Antonio has the next best record, they'd be 4th. It could definitely happen.

Odds of us losing to the clips is like 10%. In either case, if SA plays smartball. If we win this game, SA can have the option of tanking their last 2 games. The last thing SA wants to do is face Suns. They were blown out by them at home after the Shaq trade, and they lost last season's playoffs if they didn't cheat

I faith in the Rockets no matter who they play. Even if they lose there is always next season to look forward to. :)

Alston and Head were proved to be useless and headless last playoffs. Save them for the trash time if Rocket wants to show something this time.

We could still slip to 6th if we lose out and the Suns win out. If SA is the 3rd seed, then we would play them in the first round.

What were the odds of New Orleans losing to Sacramento? Stuff happens.

If you didn't know, the Fakers are playing the kings, and the hornet's remaining games are clippers and dallas. They have a 2-1 record over dallas.

so wait, couldn't we technically lose home court advantage to Utah and end up in the fifth seed. because if they beat us tomorrow, we would be tied with them and they would have a better conference record. So we would be 5th with no home court advantage rather than 5 with home court advantage...right?!

I believe so, a big reason why the Rockets shouldn't have crapped their pants on this game and why the tanking argument is complete garbage.

Rocket is ready for Jazz??? I still view Jazz is a better team for current rocket.

That's almost right. They'd have home court because they won the season series with the Rockets 2-1. Otherwise you're dead on.

But if Utah wins tomorrow, bet on the Spurs tanking Wednesday to draw us in Round 1 instead of Phoenix.

if the top 3 seeds are LA, NO, and UTA, which means UTA must be 55-27 and Spurs must be 54-28 (UTA holds tie breaker I think...could be wrong tho) so we have the 4th seed at 55-27.

Ugly ugly game by the Rockets. Every single Rocket should look in the mirror and say "Wow, I sucked it up tonight." I thought we might lose just because Denver had so much more riding on the game than we did, but I didn't expect this sort of performance. That was terrible.

However, if they win tomorrow, it's all good! :)

I think you guys are underestimating the Jazz and overrating the suns. The Jazz are probably beatable if they are on the road which they probably won't be if they beat us tomorrow (very likely). The suns are way overrated. The only reason they beat us at their house was because we were on a back to back and stadoumire had 20 freethrows and made them all. How often does that happen? I would worry more about playing the Jazz with no home court than playing the suns without home court...just my two cents

I don't know. I think they'd rather face the Suns in Round 1 with home court than us without it. They're pretty good against Phoenix.
