NBA has changed, and it is hard for teams to have centers to be a clutch players. Do you see Howard to be the clutch player in the final minutes? Offense always starts with a guard. Hoping to pass or dump the ball to Yao to close out the game is simply wrong, and it will not happen. Houston needs a premier guard to complement Yao to make Yao effective.
1) Scola couldn't defend Nowitzki at all, Hayes and Landry did better. 2) AB should be a reverse SG but not a start PG. 3) refs sxck, how could Yao get 4 fouls in just one qtr? really sxck...
I don't see what everyone is so mad about. The Blazers are the best matchup for us. If they lose tonight, we get home court against them. If they win, we just have to beat them on the road without HCA. I'd rather play Blazers without HCA than get 2nd and play the team we just sucked against. And if the Nuggs win, then it would be us with HCA against either the Blazers or Hornets. Blazers are the better matchup for us. So part of me is relieved we lost tonight.
Ron Artest 4-13, some second option. Biggest game of the season and he comes up small. Guys, he's not that good.
Now that i think about it the momentum really changed when Yao got 4 fouls within a 4:00 span, Ryan Hollins pulling his best Varejao really caused Yao to not be agressive. Maybe now all of you fly-by-night fans can see where Tracy would have helped this team tonight if he was playing like Tracy of old i'm some what indifferent about this, we really match up well against NO as nobody they have can guard Wafer but there is no real match up we have against Portland that benefits us except for Yao... i think i'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight another wasted opportunity I knew that game against Portland at the beginning of the season was going to come back to haunt us
Which is what we are doing. I don't even think we TRY to get around the fronting...it's like Yaos being fronted the team is like "Dang...okay jack up a shot." It almost makes you miss Tmac because i'd rather have him jacking up a shot on one leg then Artest a guy you never know what you're going to get. I'm not going to blame Artest anymore. Adelman has to fix the problem whether that means benching people who refuse to listen or making the team understand.
we've been a better road team for the last few years, this year we flipped it and are playing very well at home, that's the difference, THIS was the year to secure homecourt, it very well could cost us...
Yea especially when Dampier when out..you would think they would go to Yao so he can kill that skinny dude. But they stop going to Yao or stop executing play for Yao...and i am like wtf? To make matter worst, this pathetic no strategy coach continue putting Scola on Dirk knowing Dirk has been killing him in the 1st Half. I mean seriously, how dumb can you get as a coach?? It almost seem like he's trying to help the Mavs make the comeback by not doing these things i mentioned above.
IT WAS A GOOD SEASON....BECAUSE EVEN IF WE BEAT PORTLAND, WE WONT MAKE IT PAST THE LAKERS OR UTAH LOL....THANKS FOR THE YEAR ROCKETS !!!
Well if we won we would have had NOH in the first and avoided the Lakers in the 2nd. We would have certainly beat the Hornets...CERTAINLY.

This collapses have happened way too many times this season and at some point it has to be on the coach. Adelman is slow to make adjustments. The Mavs got hot in the third quarter, but they only scored 23. The problem was that offense stagnated and that's all about coaching. Players were standing around out there. The ESPN sideline reported noted that Adelman was not talking about any strategy, or plays, but rather was encouraging them to stay positive. That's not good enough.
