The people on this BBS make me sick, yall call yalls selfs Rocket fans and are throwing in the towel before the damn playoffs? I hate how everybody blames Ron, he shuts down Howard for most of the game, and looks to throw it down to Yao, but bass had Yao in a choke hold, so he has to shoot it. Artest is a physical player, and we got him for the playoffs which are physical, yall will see why. How bout blaming Brooks and Adelman for leaving Scola on Dirk for most of the game. Nobody was complaining when we were up by 14 pts. When we win everybody is on the Rockets tip, and when we lose everybody wants to trade everybody away and sign Lebron. Wake up and cheer for your damn team, if you don't like the Rockets get off and go jump on someone elses bandwagon. I'll be at Toyota Center cheering on my boys against the Blazers, who we have dominated all year. Get Red or stay home.
Well I would actually love him on this Rockets team, he is like a more experienced, smarter, better, clutch-er? brooks. size of a point but plays the 2 and can shoot lights out.
Man, this is a heart breaking loss. I am signing off the BBS: the more I read, the more disappointed I am. I can't think about these losers anymore.
We play the Blazers no matter what. If the Blazers win 2night they have HCA. That's all their is to it.
Forgot to mention in my previous post- Scola shouldn't have even seen the court after the first quarter. He obviously can't handle Dirk on either end of the floor. Hayes and Landry need those minutes. Lots of poor coaching decisions in this one. On the bright side, a week ago any of us would have been happy to know we were playing the Blazers instead of the Jazz (with our without HCA).
I hope yall finally see that Ron Artest shouldn't even be compared to Tmac as a basketball player on the offensive end...For those of you who thought Artest is better than Tmac, or is gonna do this and that. He didn't show up today in the biggest game of the season, and if he can't score against a soft perimeter defense of Dallas, how the hell is he going to score in the playoffs? Aaron Brooks didn't show up either today. He looked scared and intimidated the entire game and he was being guarded by Barea. Luckily Lowery covered him and kept us in the game. The critical point was the third quarter when we had that 14 point lead. We got that lead by going inside to Yao. Then they bring in Hollins and didn't fron Yao immediately. But what did Brooks and Artest do?? They didn't look for him inside! They kept jacking up jumpers and when they did drive, they took it in weak and didn't draw any fouls at the very least. Then Howard and Terry got going and once they are on, they are hard to stop. I also though RA should've called a timeout earlier, when the Rockets were playing sloppy. Instead he waited until they got it down to 4 points before he called one, which was very bad timing IMO. Yall can blame Yao, but without a guy like Tmac there who can create and finish, its going to be hard as hell to get Yao the ball. That was Artest's chane to step up, couldn't do it. Brooks, couldn't do it. Scola, can't guard Dirk, so he couldn't stay in the game. Landry, still doesn't look right after the injury. Wafer, pretty much ineffective offensively, but did do a decent job of guarding Terry. The only guy who stepped up offensively was Lowery. He did everything he could to try to win the game for us along with Yao, but thats not enough. I also thought they could've posted up Battier who had Kidd on him at times. Just to relieve pressure off Yao. On top of all of that, our rebounding was bad and I really thought RA should've put Artest on Dirk. Throughout their career's Artest has done a great job guarding Dirk, but he wasn't on him once today. We could've gotten by with Lowery or Wafer on Kidd and let Battier do what he could on Howard. Hayes did a nice job on him, but we needed scoring so that wasn't going to work. With all that said, this game may be a blessing in disguise. We get I think the best or 2nd best (maybe Hornets) matchup for a first round matchup in the Blazers. We only have to contain one guy in Roy and Chuck Hayes does a great job on Aldridge, and they are young. Although I hope we get HCA, if we don't get it, I think we could still win one over there. Main thing is the Rockets either have to get Yao the ball down low or Artest and Brooks have to step up as starters or we're 1 and done again this year...
leave the drugs alone this loss wasn't on Yao it was on the perimeter players and their lack of rotation and ability to stay in front of their man
I'm not going to say anything about Adelman, it's been clear to me that he doesn't know how to coach THIS team. Well...if we want to be 50win playoff teams every year with no real shot at winning anything then yeah...but if we want to be contenders...we need a new coach. I hope Adelman proves me wrong, but saying in a timeout "Don't worry guys, everything will be alright." doesn't thrill me. We MIGHT make it past Portland but that's it.
simple opinions: - Brooks sucks. - Putting Scola back on Dirk again was so wrong. Scola didnt get burn enough in 1st quarter!?
Last time I checked this was an NBA Rocket board that was made to vent so we don't throw our dog across the room our break are TV's
We have a scheme. It's called a lob pass. Aaron Brooks, of all people, lobbed the ball to Yao when Yao was being fronted by Hollins. Yao dunked the ball. This type of play was inexplicably never executed again for the rest of the evening. Was it part of Adelman's grand plan? Was Adelman befuddled at what had transpired? Who really knows?
