Mavs were just knocking everything down. You can't help that. I didn't think the Rockets gave so much a horrible effort as the Mavs were just lighting it up. This team relys so much on the fast break for points that when the other team is shooting a high percentage, it takes a major strength away and relegates the Rockets to a half court team--which they've shown they're not a good half court team time and time again this season in wire to wire losses. I'm not down on this team but without a guy who can create his own shot outside of Brooks, this team stands no chance when the other team is shooting well.
L W L W L W L W L W L ... So does this mean we're definitely going to beat the Spurs on Friday? I would have rather the games be switched and beat the Mavs. Even if we win one game against them this season, I'll be happy.
<br> That's the spirit! The other team being hot had nothing to do with the abysmal D/lack of effort we had
Dude seriously get off tmacs back...we have nothing to look forward to. Seriously, who is going to grow? Landry is there, scola is there. Ariza doesn't have the handles, shot, or game to grow anymore than 18 ppg and more than 5reb/ast. Teams are getting used to brooks, who is completely crap when his parking lot 3 pointers are off. He can give you 20 and 7 on a given night at his peak. Seriously, he turns the ball over more than did francis, and still manages to dribble as much as he did. So what are you left with? Who is going to grow. Battier, Scola, Landry, Hayes they are all grown to their max. Ariza isn't going anywhere and neither is brooks. So your left with lowry and buddinger. We need an all-star, who cannot be stopped at all. Those are the likes of dirk, kobe, duncan, even pierce. Those are players like mcgrady and yao. So believe it or not, the best team ball in the world isn't going to get us anywhere. Come January, when teams actually try against the rockets and put in same will and effort, these 20+ point losses are going to become the norm. So hop off our "growing" players and come back to reality. We are living off of a bunch of role players that will never be anything besides that. WE NEED AN ALL-STAR. NO WE NEED ALL-STARs
Nice post. I'd say the whole team pretty much gets a chance to grow. Everyone. And with TMac back they get a chance to grow in another direction, where they all have lesser roles because TMac is (has been and hopefully will be again) such a potent weapon. Now, the question is, which is the right direction? Which team would be better? A team which divides TMac's scoring amongst the group, or a team where TMac takes a superstar portion of the scoring load? I'd like to think there is at least a third option. Look at it either way: as TMac learning to share and play more team ball, or perhaps look at it as the rest of the team learning to step up and support TMac so we don't get drubbed in the playoffs despite TMac's heroic numbers. In either case, this time developing "team" I think will pay dividends.
I fell asleep at halftime, woke up at the start of the 4th. Checked the score, did a double take, shook my head, and struggled to go back to sleep. I couldn't handle watching us getting trampled. Christ, I miss having the Chinese 7-footer we had last year.
Good news and Bad news: Bad news: the Rockets got blown out of the water. Good news: I had work and missed the entire game. Does anyone know what Brooks did in terms of the mid-range game?
